• Am I on the right track?• Prepare focus questions and key terms for your search (broad and

narrow)

• Use specific keywords or phrases• Keeps you on the right track• Stops you from searching through irrelevant information

• You can exclude words from your search• Use the – sign in front of

• Ex. dolphin –football –miami • Must have a space between the – and the previous word

• You can substitute * for missing words.• Use the *, or wildcard, if you have unknown terms

• Ex. The boy * cried * (google will give suggestions for filling the blanks

• Only works on whole words• Must have a space

• Does it fit with my assignment?

Detail• Does the site have the following:• 1. A sitemap• 2. Headings• 3. An internal search engine• 4. Citations• 5. Links to quality information (active)• 6. Interactive elements
