nies for current and former members. Pembroke is an excellent place for these events, and they are a very important part of
our shared community life. If you have links with Pembroke, please do consider it for your wedding or ceremony.
It is good to plan ahead, par�cularly if you are looking for a Summer Saturday. We aim to have only one such event on any
given day, and it can get quite booked up.
These are some of the most frequently asked ques�ons:
AmIeligible?The College policy is to host weddings, Ceremonies and recep�ons for current and former members, and those with close links
to the college.
We welcome:
• All members of College (Current and Old)
• All current Staff
• The children of current staff
• All Fellows
• The children of Current Fellows (including Emeritus and Bye).
(By Statute, Weddings in Chapel happen at the discre�on of the Dean, and the use of the Hall for a recep�on requires the per-
mission of the Fellows in the College Mee�ng.)
HowcanIbookadate?This is o0en the most difficult thing to organise! It is best in the first instance to contact the Dean, James Gardom, who can
discuss Chapel Weddings, Civil Ceremonies, venues and available dates. ([email protected] & 01223 338147) If you are just
having a recep�on in College, he will indicate dates that are already booked, and refer you to the Catering Team
Howmuchdoesitcost?The College does not charge for Chapel Services (although dona�ons to the College Charity – Pembroke House – are welcome).
For Civil Ceremonies statutory charges apply, and are payable to the Registrar.
For the cost of a Recep�on, please refer to this brochure and web pages (LINK).

Your Wedding Reception..
At Pembroke College, we understand that planning
your wedding can be a complicated and stressful
experience.
To help simplify the planning of your wedding, we
offer several elegant and stylish Wedding Packages
from which to choose.
Our three packages include great op�ons at a set
price per person, allowing a clear budget to be
planned and avoiding any unexpected surprises.
Our dedicated wedding co-ordinator will assist with
the details of your recep�on, whilst our College
Butler, ac�ng as Master of Ceremonies, will ensure
your special day runs smoothly and stress-free.
Civil Weddings at Pembroke Pembroke College is licenced to host civil marriages and civil
partnerships.
We are able to host these events in the Old Library for up to
150 people, or in the Thomas Gray Room for up to 60 people.
We charge £400 to host the ceremony, which includes room
hire, parking for two vehicles, music system, signage and Butler
service.
A 50% discount is offered when combined with one of our
three Wedding Packages.
The Silver Package
The Pembroke College silver wedding package is £110.00 per person, inclusive of VAT.

The Pembroke College pla.num package is our most elegant op.on, featuring College
Champagne and gourmet canapés during the recep.on, a wide choice of cellar wine with
the meal, a cheese course a0er the meal or later in the evening, use of the College’s best
China, silver-plated cutlery and our best wine glasses.

Frequently asked ques.ons 1
♦ Can we provide our own wedding caterers?
The College does not allow external caterers on-site, however our Catering
Team will be happy to discuss any specific requirements you may have.
♦ Can you cater for guests with special dietary requirements?
Our Chefs are well trained in allergens and will happily provide suitable meals.
♦ Can we provide our own wine and Champagne?
Yes, you may bring your own refreshments, for which we charge a corkage fee
of £12.40 per bo'le for wine and £16 per bo'le for sparkling wine and
Champagne.
♦ Is there a minimum number of guests required to make a booking?
The minimum number of guests for our wedding packages is 70, however we
will be happy to provide a quota*on for smaller events.
♦ Do you provide accommoda.on?
We are not able to provide accommoda*on within College, however we are
within walking distance of the Cambridge City Hotel and the Cambridge
Doubletree by Hilton.
♦ How late are we able to use the Hall?
Music and entertainment must cease by 11.45pm. We ask that guests leave
the College by midnight.
♦ Can we park in College?
We are unable to provide parking for guests. The Grand Arcade Parking Garage
is conveniently located within 5 minutes walk of College. Access to College is
via the back gate on Tennis Court Road. Please use the intercom to contact the
Porter’s Lodge for entry.
♦ Can we play our own music?
Yes, you can arrange for a live band or DJ to play in the Hall a7er your meal.

♦ Will our wedding be the only one at Pembroke on our wedding day?
Yes, we only cater for one wedding per day.
♦ How many guests can the College cater for?
Our Hall seats 159 with room for a dance floor, or up to 194 without a dance
floor.
♦ Can confeD be thrown?
We do not allow confe: within the College.
♦ Do you allow candles to be lit?
Yes, we provide candles and silver candles*ck holders for all our weddings.
♦ Are there separate rooms available for siDng/quiet areas?
A College day-guest room, with complimentary Champagne is included in each
of our wedding packages. An addi*onal room for use by suppliers and
entertainers can be made available at an addi*onal charge.
Can we have early access to begin seDng up?
Whenever possible, we will allow you plenty of *me to setup entertainment or
decora*ons. Access is not usually permi'ed before 2pm.
♦ Is it possible to provide a cash bar?
Yes, we can provide a limited bar within the Hall which is included in each of
our wedding packages.
♦ Do you provide a dance floor?
Yes, the polished wooden flooring on the High Table Dias is ideal for dancing.
♦ May we bring out own wedding decora.ons?
Yes you may, but please discuss these with our wedding co-ordinator to ensure
they are suitable for the Hall.

♦ How can we pay for our wedding recep.on?
A non-refundable deposit of £2500 is due when we receive the completed
wedding booking form. The balance remaining will be invoiced a7er the event.
Payment can be by via the Pembroke finance office by cheque, cash, credit/
debit card, or bank transfer .
N.B: payments by credit card will incur a 2% administra*on fee.
♦ Is it possible to display our sea.ng plan on the day?
Yes, we can display the sea*ng plan outside the doors of the Hall.
♦ Do you provide a microphone for wedding speeches?
Yes, our Hall contains a PA system for which a microphone will be provided.
♦ Do you cater for children?
Yes, we are happy to cater for children under 10 years of age at 50% of the
package price. We can provide smaller por*ons or child specific menus upon
request. We also have a highchair, if needed.
♦ When do you require final numbers for our wedding?
We require final numbers within 5 days of your wedding.
♦ Is there access for disabled guests?
Yes, our Hall is accessible for wheelchair users, as are our gardens.
Disabled access toilets are available within M staircase in Ivy Court.
♦ Is there a cancella.on charge?
Yes, our charges are outlined in our terms and condi*ons, which form a part of
the booking form.
♦ Does the College allow fireworks?
No, fireworks are not allowed under any circumstances.
