The following documents are all required by the Dominican Republic law to Foreigners wishing to be legally married in the Dominican Republic.

Civil WeddingsCivil Weddings

• Birth Certificates: Couples birth certificates have to be translated & legalized by the Dominican Embassy or Consulate in your home country

• Couples Certified Declaration of Single Status: Couples statutory declarations cannot be valid for more than tree (3) months prior to your intended wedding date. Translated & Legalized by the Dominican Embassy or Consulate in your home country

• Absolute Divorce Decree: If either party has been divorced, then proof of absolute divorce decree is required with a court stamp. If the Bride has been divorced, then the absolute divorce decree must have been issued at least 10 months prior to your intended wedding date. This is not applicable for gentleman. Translated & Legalized for the Dominican Embassy or Consulate in your home country

• Passport Photocopy: Photocopy of Couple’s & Witnesses’ passport (2 witnesses) is required

• In case of Widow / Widower: A death certificate of the ceased spouse is required with a copy of the Wedding Certificate Translated & Legalized by the Dominican Embassy or Consulate in your home country

The couple must each bring their original documents and must also have the translated and legalized documents at the Resort for the meeting with the Wedding Coordinator. The resort will not be held responsible for any delay or made by the judge. The judge will legalize the marriage license and the resort will then send the wedding certificate to the couple’s mailing address, this may take up to 90 days to do. The couple will then have to legalize their Marriage Certificate in their home country through the Dominican Republic Consulate or Embassy. The Civil Wedding is celebrated in Spanish. The Resort can provide translators upon request and subject to availability.

Requirements for a wedding

Witnesses are also available upon request. Is necessary to send the documents 60 days before wedding day by fax or e-mail. Arrival to the Hotel 3 days before the ceremony. Times and dates for ceremonies are based on availability (resorts and officiates availability. We cannot guarantee any date or time before checking with our officiates. Weddings cannot be performed during Easter week, Dominican Holidays or Sundays. The Wedding Couple is responsible for the acquisition of all needed paperwork. Resort is not responsible if the local authorities do not perform the Wedding for any reason whatsoever. Cancellation fee will be charged if wedding it’s cancelled. Guests not staying at the resort must purchase a day pass upon arriving to the resort. US$ 75.00 per guest. The day pass gives the guest full access to attend the ceremony and the dinner The Hotel has an standard ceremony; however there is time during the ceremony when the Judge asks bride and groom to exchange rings. If the couple can bring their own vows or would like to exchange some words, the Judge will provide them a couple minutes after the rings to do this. Upon your arrival to the resort you and your future husband will be having a meeting with your wedding coordinator. She will be leaving a message inside the envelope that the front desk will give you at the moment of check in, and you will be informed of the time, place and date where she will be meeting you to finalize the all arrangements, flowers, menu, and the all documentation. Ceremonies that require more than 1 hour please notice the wedding coordinator. Catholic weddings can not be made on the Beach. Catholic weddings will have the bride and groom chairs decorated for the ceremony

Deposit and Cancellation Policy: We require a deposit of 10% of the package selected to confirm your wedding. A completed credit card authorization form and a photocopy of the back and front of the signed credit card, along with a copy of the card holder's photo ID (Passport or Driver's License) and a completed payment Agreement Form, must be forwarded to the resort two weeks after wedding in order to confirm wedding time and date Deposit of 10% is non reimbursable Wedding packages are non commissionable.

Receptions Dinners & Lunches

Prices included the location and the set menu, not included decoration, music, sound, special tablecloth, ribbon and cover chairs.

Even we have various thematic restaurants at the Resort it will be necessary that you notify the hotel in advance if you require a group wedding dinner or Lunch so we can check the availability and make the reservations. If your wedding is less than 10 pax we can accommodate in a reservation area in our thematic restaurants without any extra cost. This area will be not private and you will share the restaurant with the regular clients. Not set menu is required and the menu is a la carte. Maximum per table 8 guests. If your group is larger than 11 guests it will be required that bride & groom select a Set Menu for their dinner. This area will be not private and you will share the restaurant with the regular clients without any extra cost If your wedding dinner required a Private Area, extra fee apply. (see page nº 13) Dinners starts from 6:30pm to 10:30pm Set Menu apply to any type of special dinners, including rehearsal dinners, parties, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. Music and dancing are only allowed for private dinners and not for the regular restaurants Bahia offer for Wedding Dinners two Indoor Private Terrace (Il Capriccio and Garden Grill) with air conditioner (maximum capacity 40 guests depending the set up chosen). Rehearsal Dinner

If you have decided to have a Rehearsal Dinner, let the Wedding Assistant know so she can plan the event and book a restaurant for you and your guests. Bahia offers several options to celebrate this special moments: You may reserve the dinner in small groups of 8 pax each table with “a la carta menu” and each entrance can be 15-30 minutes differences. Another option is reserve a section in our restaurants with tables maximum 8 per pax, set menu is required if the group want to eat together. This two options are sharing the restaurant with regular clients (not private) and without extra cost. If your Rehearsal Dinner required a Private Area, extra fee apply. (see page nº 13) The Rehearsal Dinner has become a common tradition in weddings but the couple is not obligated to host a rehearsal dinner if they choose not to do it.

• We send you one of our professional photographers to your wedding.• He will take as many pictures as he can (around 200).• The next day(s) you would come to our Photo-Wedding office and take a look to all the pictures.• You will select the ones that you like the most.

When you have already counted the amount of pictures that you liked, we will make 3 offers based on the amount of pictures that you previously selected:

Folded Napkins – Do just go with the usual white fans, there are so many different ways to fold and display your linen napkin, Why not dress it up with some accessories like ribbons, a flower or napkin ring. The ceremony will take place in our wedding areas. We have 4 wedding location (one gazebo on the beach, a White Gazebo and 2 more made in iron located in the Garden which is surrounded by tropical jungle).

Since all the preparations have been organized long time in advance we cannot cancel the ceremony; but you do not need to worry because we do have a back up plan and location that very nice. These places can be Piscis, Italian Terrace or Meeting Room.

Dinner Areas29

We provide a selection of music. However, clients are welcome to bring their own wedding music CD or I pod. For the Ceremony music equipments are included and for dinner is extra charge.

There is a trio band available to play during the wedding ceremonies and dinners; they play for 20-30 minutes and there is an additional charge for this.
