About the Williamson Family

Originally established by Elizabeth “Pansy” Ireland Poe,this property has a long and prosperous recreational

history. It wasimproved and nurturedfor over two decades byWall Street titan JamesH. Dahl before it waspurchased in 2008 bysuccessful entrepreneurBob Williamson andhis wife Teresa.

Williamson, who liveson the property, immediately set out to improve the facilitiesand environment. Early on he decided the plantation wassimply too magnificent and valuable as a regional treasure tokeep it private, so he decided to offer limited public access—

provided that opening up the property would not adverselyaffect its pristine quality. He was joined by his youngest sonJon, and together the idea for Honey Lake Plantation Resort& Spa was spawned.
