paradise. At Plantation Island Resort, we specialise in romantic

island weddings, whether they be casual or elaborate. You can

be married on the beach accompanied by the blowing of conch

shells and beating of the lali drum with Fijian warriors carrying

the bride on a traditional ceremonial chair; on the water on a

raft adorned with coconut leaves and bridal arch, escorted by

paddling Fijian warriors; or on your own private sandbar island

surrounded by crystal clear blue waters.

of July and October; the most popular flowers for weddings.

- Pink anthurium - available all year round. There are other colour variations such as red, white, peach.

chocolate and green but these are not always available.

- Frangipani is another popular option but is seasonal and weather dependent. Beautiful arrangements of

this quintessentially tropical bloom look and smell great, however some florists discourage the use of these

flowers as they have a tendency to wilt and brown quickly after picking.

Payment• A deposit is required at the time of confirmation for each booking equating to the first two nights for each

Wedding Details & RequirementsDeposit and PaymentOnce you have settled on your preferred available date, you will need to secure this date with an advance

deposit of FJD$500. Please note we only hold 1 wedding per day so this deposit guarantees that date is

special just for you.

50% of the entire wedding package is therefore required 6 months prior to your wedding date and full

payment required 1 month prior.

Marriage LicenseTo apply for your Marriage License we recommend that you send the following at least 1 month prior to your

wedding date to [email protected]

• Copy of their current passports,

• Birth certificates,

• Divorce decree (if divorced)

• Death certificate (if widowed).

• If there has been a name change, you will also need to provide supporting documentation for this.

All documents must be in English or have an official English translation.

Documents required for a Catholic Wedding:• Baptism Certificate

• Freedom to Marry Certificate

• Pre-nuptial enquiry form, signed and endorsed by the couples parish Priest

• Notification that the couple have had their pre-marriage instruction course.

Plantation Island Resort provides an onsite wedding license registration and administration fee service

which means you don’t need to visit the Registry Office on the mainland, we take care of everything for

you. Hard copies of the marriage certificate are required to be sighted, you could either send these at a later

date to Plantation’s address or present them in person on arrival at Plantation Island Resort.

If you require an Apostle Seal on your Marriage Certificate (required by all countries other than Australia and

New Zealand), the Wedding Coordinator will personally take the original certificate to be Apostle Sealed
