Weekly Riddle

What is the longest word in the dictionary?

*Last weeks’ answer - neither, they both weigh a

pound!!*

We are holding our Annual Christmas Fair on Friday 27th November 6-8pm. The event is

always well attended and includes lots of stalls and games, refreshments and entertainment. In addition,

there will be several small businesses selling their wares—a great opportunity to purchase some Christmas

presents!

We will be holding a non-uniform day on Thursday 26th November and would kindly request that children bring in a donation to the tombola please.

Also, if any parents or grandparents are able to bake some cakes for the cake stall, these would be appre-

ciated—please bring them to the school office on the morning of the Fair.

As you are aware, the PTA is an organisation of parents and staff, encouraging closer links between home and school. PTA’s

are best known for their fundraising work, such as events like school disco’s and Summer and Christmas Fairs. These events

not only raise funds intended to provide ‘extras’ not already provided by the school's main income, but an opportunity for

parents, staff and pupils to get together. Unfortunately, this year, we have had very few offers of help for the Christmas

Fair. The school staff work tirelessly to make these events happen, but without your support, the PTA may not be able to

continue. There are many different ways you can help, whether you have lots of time to offer or not. If you can’t commit to

a big job, look out for things you can do less frequently - anything would be appreciated! If you do have any time spare,

please do come and speak to us!

Art Exhibition

There is still time to purchase your child's art work. Payment of

£6.50 is to be sent in a named envelope with your child’s art work

number by Friday 27th November at the very latest. Thank you.

Scooter

A blue, metal scooter was accidently left in the

playground after school on Friday. If anybody

knows of it’s whereabouts, please let the office know. Thank you.

Cross Country

Due to the darker evenings, this will be the last week

of Cross Country Club.

Reception children baked jam tarts last week to

eat at their banquet.

Imagineering Club

We have a place available on the Imagineering

Club that Mrs Wheatley runs every Monday

night. We are looking for an enthusiastic, com-mitted Year 5 or Year 6 pupil who would like to

join this exciting new club. You must be able to

come every Monday between 3.15 and 4.15pm. If you are inter-

ested please bring a letter, signed by your parents or guardian,

stating your commitment to the club and giving permission for you

to come. There is only 1 place available so it is on a first come

first serve basis.

Year 2

Year 2 conducted science experiments to discover which sub-

stance made the most bubbles. They tested:

• Bubble Bath

• Soap

• Washing up Liquid

• Handwash

The children had to blow into the water to make the bubbles

and then carefully place paper on top of them to get the printed

design. This was rather messy but so much fun! The bubble

bath proved to be the best!

Cooking Club

Year 5

As part of their ‘Stargazing’ topic, year

5 children are designing and making

rockets out of Lego this week.

For improved behaviour and

concentration during the

session

Year 5

Children in Miss Dobbs’ class have written some amazing poems.

The Writer of this Poem

The writer of this poem is,

As cute as a little panda.

As beautiful as a unique flower,

As clever as a graceful dolphin.

As smart as a president in a suit,

As sweet as strawberries dipped into

chocolate.

As awesome as a turbo waterslide,

As cool as a fast go-cart.

~ Laura Ziernik

The Writer of this Poem

The writer of this poem is,

As soft as marshmallow.

As strong as a monster truck running

over cars,

As handsome as a prince charming.

As talented as David Beckham at

football,

As fast as the flash.

As funny as the best joke,

As silly as Christmas cracker jokes.

~ Bradley Wetherill

The Writer of this Poem

The writer of this poem is,

As made up as a movie star.

As kind as a teacher,

As musical as a guitar.

As crazy as a chipmunk,

As quiet as a drop of a pin.

As intelligent as a scientist,

As sensitive as a new born baby’s

skin.

~ Rebecca Bembridge

The Writer of this Poem

The writer of this poem is,

As imaginative as a dream.

As intelligent as a calculator,

As delicious as ice-cream.

As quiet as a whisper when being said,

As shy as a child when they meet

someone new.

As pretty as a view from the top of a

mountain,

As determined as a detective to find

out a clue.

As dramatic as an actor on a crazy

scene,

As lucky as a famous lottery winner.

As kind as a friend that is helpful,

As tasty as a school dinner.

~ Alicia Nicolaou
