Marshalltown. She was the guest of Representative M. Smith of

Marshall County.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by students representing the

Iowa Department for the Blind from communities across Iowa.

The Journal of Tuesday, January 18, 2011 was approved.

On motion by Upmeyer of Hancock, the House was recessed at 8:42

a.m., until 1:00 p.m.

AFTERNOON SESSION

The House reconvened at 1:09 p.m., Speaker Paulsen in the chair.

ADOPTION OF HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 7

Upmeyer of Hancock asked and received unanimous consent for

the immediate consideration of House Concurrent Resolution 7, a

concurrent resolution supporting the establishment of a veterans

national recovery center at the former Veterans Affairs Hospital

campus in Knoxville, Iowa, and moved its adoption.

The motion prevailed and the resolution was adopted.

The House stood at ease at 1:16 p.m., until the fall of the gavel.

House File 45, a bill for an act relating to public funding and

regulatory matters and making, reducing, and transferring

appropriations and revising fund amounts and including effective,
