Week 3

Why Did God Make You Rich?

2 Corinthians 9:11

11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

Because I have more, I will give more

How can you learn to give more?..

...being an intentional giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7

7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

We need to give from the heart, not the head .

If you want to give from the heart, intentionally, then return

to God what belongs to God:

Consider the principle behind returning to God what belongs to God

Leviticus 27:30 30A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.

If you want to give from the heart, intentionally, then return

to God what belongs to God:

Consider the principle behind returning to God what belongs to God

Malachi 3:10a 10

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there

may be food in my house.

If you want to give from the heart, intentionally, then return

to God what belongs to God:

Consider the principle behind Tithing that helps us put God first

Deuteronomy 14:23 (TLB) 23The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives.

If you want to give from the heart, intentionally, then return

to God what belongs to God:

Consider the principle behind Tithing that helps increase our faith in God

Malachi 3:10b Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”

Is the spiritual discipline and principle of tithing

affirmed by Jesus?

Matt 23:23…“Woe to you, teachers of the law and

Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cummin. But you

have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You

should have practised the latter, without neglecting the former.

Giving more… and more?

Giving more… and more?

2 Corinthians 8:7

But just as you excel in everything… see that you also excel in this grace of giving

God has blessed me with more than I need. I’m rich. (Wk 1)

I will not trust in riches, but in Him who richly provides. (Wk 2)

Because I have more, I’ll give more.(Wk 3)
