Road Safety There have been a number of reports about Hobartville Public School students doing dangerous things either on their way home from school, or later in the aſternoon, wearing uniform. Many of the instances involve riding bikes and scooters without helmets and another serious incident where a child stepped onto the road to try and touch a moving bus. Please remind your children of the dangers of playing or walking near the road. Thank you to the P&C and all the parents who supported the Elecon Day BBQ either by giving up part of their weekend, baking cakes or purchasing items when vong. Your support is greatly appreciated. Week 10 Term 3 2014

From The Principal

Thank you once again for your support of Hobartville

Public School over the past term. It has been very busy and

the students have been working hard. Term 4 is usually the busiest of the year.

As always, we endeavour to give you as much notice about upcoming events as

possible.

Stage 3 Camp

Stage 3 represented Hobartville with amazing behaviour in Week 8. I can honestly

say it was the best camp I have ever been on. The weather was fantastic and it

was wonderful to see the excitement on the faces of many who had never seen

snow before. There were a few who managed to get me with a snowball. One of

our students is still missing an iPod touch. Any information in regards to this

would be greatly appreciated.

Bush Fires

Last Tuesday was a very crazy day weather wise. The wind was dangerous which

resulted in the local fires becoming out of control. We were closely monitoring

the situation. Thank you to the many parents for their patience either trying to

phone through or picking up their children early. Due to the fires, no buses were

able to pick up and transport our students either to after school care or home.

We managed to get through to over 50 families in just over 30 minutes which was

a fantastic effort. These situations make it so important to keep your contact

information current with the front office.

Road Safety

There have been a number of reports about Hobartville Public School students

doing dangerous things either on their way home from school, or later in the

afternoon, wearing uniform. Many of the instances involve riding bikes and

scooters without helmets and another serious incident where a child stepped

onto the road to try and touch a moving bus. Please remind your children of the

dangers of playing or walking near the road.

Thank you to the P&C and all the parents who supported the Election Day BBQ

either by giving up part of their weekend, baking cakes or purchasing items when

voting. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Have a happy and safe Holiday and we look forward to your healthy return on

Tuesday 8th October 2013.

Delay in NAPLAN Results On Thursday 5 September ACARA identified an error in the placement of the national average markers on the Years 5 and 7 NAPLAN Student Reports for Language Conventions. Importantly the NAPLAN student data is correct. ACARA made the immediate decision to halt any further packaging and distribution of NAPLAN reports while options regarding the distribution of correct NAPLAN Student Reports were considered. ACARA is working closely with Test Administration Authorities (TAAs) in every state and territory to ensure correct reports are distributed. This matter may result in the delay of the distribution of student reports, possibly to the week of 13 October, however ACARA and TAAs will seek to minimise the delay.
