Week 2: Laundry & Bathrooms This week our goal is to catch up the laundry backlogs, implement a laundry strategy, and tackle the bathrooms. Think in terms of hospitality: making it more comfortable to go about the business of life.

My Personal Focus:

Declutter Steps

Brain Dump Prompts Brain dump all the steps it takes to do a load of laundry and to clean a bathroom. List out all the laundry loads that need to be done in a week. Decide if you’ll do laundry daily, weekly (choose the day!), or a mix. Note how frequently each bathroom job needs to be done. Can you outsource of these chores to children or your husband or other help? Come up with your plan of attack for staying on top of the laundry and bathrooms.

Practice Checklist Every day this week, commit to completing your laundry rhythm. You might hit snags along the way, but wait for the end of the week before evaluating or tweaking. Mark the days you keep your bathroom cleaning routine, too. Black out the hearts that don’t apply (for example, if you only do laundry two days a week, black out four hearts).

Gather all the laundry into one place, sort it, and wash the piles this week.

Remove everything from the bathroom counters and only put back what belongs.

Scrub the inside and outside of all toilets.
