Facts about Self-Efficacy
LOW SELF EFFICACY: are more likely to
lessen their effort or give up altogether

HIGH SELF-EFFICACY Will try harder when
faced with a challenge Will respond better to
negative feedback with increased effort and motivation
Factors that affect self –efficacy, according to Bandura
Experience – “Mastery experience” success fosters success, Modeling – vicarious modeling, becoming more confident
because you see someone else doing the task Verbal persuasion- becoming more confident because
someone convinces you that you have the skills necessary to be successful. (motivational speakers)
Arousal – leads to an energized state, which drives a person to complete a task. However, arousal doesn’t always lead to better performance.
