PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

An exciting start to Term 2

I sure everyone that has a Facebook account

and has liked the Tullamore Central School

page has been keeping track of the travels and

activities our students and Mr Nichols who are

in Gallipoli at the moment. I am sure this trip

has been very exciting and the experience of a

lifetime. It also has enabled our students to see

history in the flesh so to speak, and for

Hannah Walker who is currently studying both

Modern and Ancient History I am sure it will

add to her learning of these subjects. We wish

Kimberley, Morgan, Hannah, Harrison and Mr

Nichols a safe trip home, and no doubt we will

see a report from them in a later newsletter.

Departing Dubbo – Farewelled by

Deputy Premier Troy Grant

The Dawn Service at Gallipoli

Tullamore ANZAC Service

In the absence of our school captains who are

currently making their way back from

Gallipoli, our Primary Captains, Bailee-Jane

Merriman and Hamish Larkings did a fantastic

job of being representatives at our local

ANZAC Day service. This year saw the

official opening of new memorial gates at the

park. Thank you to all the students, teachers

and parents that attended and marched with

the school group. Students are to be

commended on their standard of dress and

their behaviour at the service.

Trivial Pursuit

On Saturday 1st August there is a Trivia and

games night planned as a fundraiser for our

P&C and school. Please save the date it is sure

to be a fun night!

Big Gig

Big Gig is on again for 2015. This year the

theme is Eye Spy so our Gig team are

swinging into action on script writing and will

soon be calling for auditions for key parts.

Don’t forget that there are many parts to Big

Gig – If you are not a performer there is back

stage, costuming and makeup, roadies (they do

all the heavy lifting!), props so I am sure there

will be a role for anyone that wants to have a

go. Don’t forget that we take this performance

on the road to both Trundle and Yeoval and

students have met lifelong friends from this

experience. Thankyou in advance to our P&C

who assist with catering on the night that we

host Big Gig. Further information will be in

the newsletter and sent home with students

once scripts and parts are organised.

P&C NEWS

Wow!!! What a busy few weeks of catering

the P&C and its band of volunteers has just

completed. There were so many helpers over

our three events that I couldn’t possibly name

you all but each and everyone of you is

appreciated for your time and support that you

have shown to our fundraising efforts, so

thank you all. Before costs the P&C raised

$550 at the election, $5000 at the Irish festival

and $3000 at the clearing sale. Overall that is

$8500 before we take out all our expenditures,

what a massive effort! A few thanks need to

be given to our new catering coordinator,

Nadine Mortimer, who is an absolute legend

and a vital addition to our committee, thank

you for all your hard work organising all

events, especially when you were unwell.

Thanks also to the Albert Golf Club, Wylie

Roll, Bill Aveyard, Pony Club, the Mortimer
