  • Dear parents and caregivers,

    Thanks Thank you to our wonderful P&C for donating the gifts for Father’s Day. We have had some lovely messages from families who enjoyed their gifts.

    R U Okay? Day—Thursday This Thursday is R U Okay? Day which supports those who are struggling with life’s ups and downs. We are encouraging everyone to come wearing something yellow for the day.

    Walk Safely to School Day—Friday This Friday is Walk Safely to School Day. As most of our students arrive by bus we will be doing a little walk around the village on our way to the Mobile Library so everyone has the chance to walk to school.

    Current Restrictions Please ensure your child has a water bottle everyday.

    If your child is unwell please ensure that you keep them

    at home. If they have had any symptoms you will need

    to provide a negative COVID test before they can

    return to school.

    Dymock’s Charity Permission Notes Thank you to those people who have returned their media permission forms for the Dymock’s Charity donations. We are busily covering the books ready for the library and then we will be ready to take some photos of us with the donated books. If you haven’t returned the note please do so tomorrow.

    Reminders

  • Jump Rope for Heart Our Jump Rope for Heart challenge is heating up this year as we are in a friendly battle with our local Wagga Community of Small Schools. We have been sending them videos of the new skips we have been learning and they are sending some back to us to challenge us to push ourselves to learn new things. Every Wednesday for PE we are learning new jumps for our big Jump Rope for Heart jump off day in Week 9. We hope to have learnt many new skipping skills by then. If you would like your child to participate in the fundraising side of this program please sign up at jumprope.org.au/parents and create a new account. There are various prizes to be had depending upon how much your child raises.

    External Validation Every five years the school participates in a massive self-evaluation of their processes and practices. We are in the middle of completing this evaluation with the teachers gathering evidence of all the wonderful things we do here at Tarcutta Public School to help our students learn and thrive. We will then be conducting an analysis of the evidence before sharing that with a panel from the Department of Education early next term. Thank you to everyone who has returned the surveys on student wellbeing as this has helped us compare the results to those taken back at the start of 2018. At the completion of the evaluation we will then be moving on to a new school planning cycle and determining our next steps forward for student achievement goals. It is a busy but rewarding time to be at school. We look forward to working with you to set the next directions for our students and the school.

    Bike Week

    The students have been asking if we can celebrate Bike Week this year which falls in Week 10 of this term. Now is the time to make sure your tyres are pumped up and ready to go. If your child doesn’t have a bike they may have a scooter or they could borrow a bike for the afternoon. More information to come in the next few weeks. Kirrilee Post, Principal
