Week 9 Term 3, 10th September 2014 Dear Parents, Sue Mackay Principal Week 6 Term 4, 16th November 2016 Dear Parents, The pace at school is really starting to speed up as we mark just over four weeks of school left until we close the books on 2016. With swimming school completed and the Footsteps dance program due in the next couple of weeks, our Yr 5 students are also beginning the serious start to our SRC election process for the coming year. Many students are busy preparing items for their stage talent quest auditions and plans are being made for the multitude of end of year activities. Teachers are also working longer hours than usual at the moment as they prepare the Semester 2 reports for each child in their class or group. The A to E grades that are used in reports give parents information as to whether each child is ‘on track’ and learning what is expected, is achieving at better than expected level or perhaps indicates that they need more help and assistance with their school work. Student reports will be distributed to parents and carers during the last week of school. Whilst our more formal parent interviews are not typically conducted at the end of the year, parents are able to contact their child’s teacher should they have a concern with regard to the progress of their child. Please do not hesitate to contact the office to make an appointment should you wish to do so. During the last week we have seen further success for our students at two different events. Let’s keep the hard work and achievements coming right through until the end of the term. Have a fabulous week – hope that a few families are making a start to their Christmas shopping along the way. Sue Mackay Principal Congratulations to Jyden Pike for his fantastic performance as a finalist in the NSW Premiers State Spelling Bee. He came 5th! A huge pat on the back as well to our senior debating team for their equal first place at the Northern Beaches Debating Competition.

Quote for the Week:

Week 6 Term 4, 16th November 2016 Dear Parents,

The pace at school is really starting to speed up as we mark just over four weeks of school left until we close the books on

2016. With swimming school completed and the Footsteps dance program due in the next couple of weeks, our Yr 5 students are also beginning the serious start to our SRC election process for the coming year. Many students are busy preparing items

for their stage talent quest auditions and plans are being made for the multitude of end of year activities.

Teachers are also working longer hours than usual at the moment as they prepare the Semester 2 reports for each child in their

class or group. The A to E grades that are used in reports give parents information as to whether each child is ‘on track’ and learning what is expected, is achieving at better than expected level or perhaps indicates that they need more help and

assistance with their school work.

Student reports will be distributed to parents and carers during the last week of school. Whilst our more formal parent interviews are not typically conducted at the end of the year, parents are able to contact their child’s teacher should they have

a concern with regard to the progress of their child. Please do not hesitate to contact the office to make an appointment should

you wish to do so.

During the last week we have seen further success for our students at two different events.

Let’s keep the hard work and achievements coming right through until the end of the term.

Have a fabulous week – hope that a few families are making a start to their

Christmas shopping along the way.

This year’s Presentation day is on

Tuesday, 13th December.

home to parents inviting them to the Award

Ceremony. This is to ensure parents who work

may be able to arrange some time off to see

their child receive his/her award. The ceremony

starts at 10am and finishes at 11.30 at the very

latest, although we endeavour to have it finished

earlier than that.

If you have a business and would like to sponsor

our Presentation Day with a monetary donation,

we would greatly appreciate it. The awards which

are presented have a dollar value and can be

redeemed at a local sports store or book shop.

Your donation will help pay for this. Your

business will be acknowledged on the back of our

program.

School Satisfaction Survey

In last week’s Newsletter a survey was include as part of our evaluations and forward planning into the new year. The

survey is gathering of information using a very simple tool called the Net Promoter Index. The graphic below is a visual

representation of the scores calculation.

If you have misplaced your survey a copy is available on the school website.

REMINDER When purchasing new shoes for school for 2017 please remember they must be BLACK. This is part of our school uniform. PLEASE no flouro coloured shoe laces. Joggers may be any colour for sport but keep in mind it is much nicer if they match our sports uniform as best they can.

HEADLICE

These really annoying creatures are so hard to get rid of once they get into your child’s hair. Parents are asked continually to check their children’s hair regularly and if found treat them with the appropriate shampoo. All of the eggs must be combed out with a fine tooth comb. You will need to treat them more that once.

OUR NEW DEMOUNTALBE WILL BE DELIVERED ON

THURSDAY, 17TH NOVEMBER. FOR SAFETY

REASONS PLEASE USE THE STEPS ON JAMES

SMALL DRIVE NOT THE BACK ACCESS.
