Maths:

This week we are going to work our way through a maths mystery. Some of you might have seen these before – if so, you have an advantage! For those who have not seen it before, make sure you READ the instructions (I have highlighted and

underlined the word ‘read’ for a reason). Each day, as you solve the maths problems, you will end up with a clue or statement which will allow you to eliminate

people from the suspect list (I recommend you print this list to keep track of who is not involved. Alternatively, copy just the names). As the week goes on, more and more people will be eliminated and, all being well, you should be able to determine

the culprit of the Camping Chaos!

Over the next 2 days you are going to be producing a grateful tree to remind yourself

what you have gained during lockdown, focus on the positives. Today you are going to plan your grateful statements – what activities have you done with your family?

Have you learned any new skills? What has been your favourite part about lockdown? What will you miss when lockdown is over? You could start your statements like this….

‘I am grateful for…’ ‘I have enjoyed…’

‘I will miss….’ You should aim to plan at least 8 grateful statements to form the leaves of your grateful tree. Keep them safe you will need to use them tomorrow to finish your

grateful tree. It can be too easy to start thinking about all the things we can’t do or the people we

can’t see, but when you turn it around and think about the positive it has a really strong effect on how positive you feel and really helps us to feel happy. Reading:

Reading for pleasure. Have you read any of the 11 books to read before you’re 11? Afternoon activities:

have this available) or draw them on in different colours. Write on each leaf your grateful statements from Monday; make sure you give your reasoning behind why

you are grateful. Add your leaves to you tree and display it somewhere in your house for everyone to see and be reminded about the positives of lockdown.

As you have probably heard the adults around you say a lot recently, these are

'unprecedented' times. This is a moment in history that we will never forget. Today I'd like you to think about your thoughts and experiences as you live through

lockdown, by answering the following questions: 1. Can you remember your first thought when you heard that schools were

closing? Were you thrilled? Concerned? Frightened? Why?

2. Have your feelings changed at all? 3. What do you miss most about normal life?

4. What don't you miss? 5. Have you learnt anything new since being in lockdown? Have you developed

an interest you didn't have before?

6. Have you learnt anything about yourself? For example, do you find your are more tolerant that you thought? Or more easily bored?

7. What has been your favourite moment in lockdown so far? 8. And your least favourite? 9. Do you think lockdown will change us all? If so, how?

10. How do you feel about the prospect of returning to school? 11. What are you most looking forward to when things return to normal?

people avoid doing?
