PRINCIPAL’S REPORT—WEEK 1 Welcome back to the 2016 school year to our continuing
families and their children. We also extend a very warm
welcome to our new families and students. All students in
Years 1–6 returned on Thursday last week and have been
placed in classes which will hopefully stay the same for the
remainder of 2016. Our Kindergarten students commenced
their first day of school on Monday this week and the
teachers have been highly impressed by their positive,
bubbly attitudes. The Opportunity Class has commenced at
Armidale City Public School and we welcome students in this
group to our school. During the next couple of weeks we will
be looking closely at our student numbers to finalise class
structures for 2016.
We welcome to our teaching staff Miss Brit Lewis who has
been appointed to Armidale City Public School to commence
2016. Miss Lewis will be working across all classes, teaching
and supporting students as required. Mr Graham Commens
has been appointed to Armidale City as a permanent teacher
through a merit selection process completed in Term 4,
2015. Mr Commens will continue in the roles he was doing
last year and we welcome him in his permanent capacity.

1/2KS CLASS NEWS
Mrs Cordingley and Mrs Woods are pleased to welcome all
the new little "Hatters" in 1/2KS to "Wonderland" this year.
We have already seen some amazing and interesting writing,
mathematical thinking, artworks and demonstrations of our
You Can Do It keys.
Thanks to all the families who had pencil cases ready and/or
have sent in supplies. An organised learner is a happy and
learning learner. We hope to see everyone all set up with
their supplies by the end of the week.
We'll kick off our regular homework next week in Stage 1
and are excited by the variety of options on our grid. Keep
an eye out for it!
We look forward to working together with our 1/2KS
families this year. As the Cheshire Cat says "We're all mad
here." And as Alice reminds us, "All the best people are."
Mrs Kylie Woods and Mrs Shelley Cordingley
