FROM THE OFFICE OF R.C.I.A.
A rite is a ritual event that marks a person’s transition from one stage to another. A liturgical rite has the power to transform not only the lives of those seeking to enter the Catholic Church but a l s o t h e p a r i s h c o m m u n i t y . O n e
liturgical rite is the Rite of Sending in the Order of Catechumens which is of the utmost importance. At the conclusion of the Period of the Catechumenate, a Rite of Sending of the Catechumens to their election by the bishop may be celebrated in the Parish. This Rite of Sending offers the Parish community the opportunity to express its approval of the Catechumens and to send them forth to the celebration of election assuring them the Parish’s care and support. Let us pray for our Catechumens who celebrate this Rite: Elissa A. Herrera, Vennette Aguilar, Danielle Sierra Hernandez, and Cassidy Nguyen.

NORMS FOR LENTEN FASTING AND ABSTINENCE
During Lent Catholics are asked to practice self-denial especially through the works of fasting, abstaining from meat, as well as giving charity to the needy. According to the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the norms for fasting and abstinence for Roman Catholics are as follows:
• FASTING Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days for fasting and abstinence. Fasting is binding for those who are 18 years through 59 years old. Fasting consists of one full meal and two smaller meals that is not equal to a full meal.
• ABSTINENCE Fridays during Lent are days of Abstinence from meat. Abstinence from meat are binding for those who are 14 years old and older.

DONATIONS If you are donating to multiple collections, PLEASE make a separate check for St. Vincent De Paul. St. Vincent has its own checking account,
and placing all collections in one check makes it more difficult to separate. The rest of the collections can be done with one check, for example Sunday’s and the Capital Campaign. Thank you for your generosity, and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family.
LOST AND FOUND If you have left any item in the Church, it will be taken to the Parish Office and can be picked up during regular business hours.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Please kindly sign the register so that we know that Jesus is not alone. Even if you stay for only 30 minutes, please let us know that you made time for Our Loving Savior, who is a “Prisoner of Love” in the Tabernacle.
“Eucharistic adoration reminds us at every moment of our lives that Jesus thirsts for a relationship with us. It is true, of course, that our love for Jesus can neither be predicted nor planned, but arises as our free response to the discovery of His Love. It is also true, however, that Jesus needs this response. He thirsts for it, desires it and waits for it. This is why he decided to remain present in human history in such a singular way as the Eucharist.”
