Toll -free number to help independents sell productCanadian independent acts who have troubleselling theirproduct will soon have a means ofmaking it available coast to coast.

Beginning May 26, the IndependentDistributors Association of Canada (IDAC)will distribute, through a mail order format, compact discs and cassettes of acts not foundon local records store shelves. A toll -freenumber will be given to radio stations andthen passed on to listeners who can call it andorder the product on the spot, says Joe Wood, the person who's putting the idea in motion.

Randy Bachman is nottouring with B.T.O.Randy Bachman has made it known that he isnot touring with B.T.O., contrary toinformation apparently supplied to somefactions of the media and to promoters andbooking agents.

Bachman, who founded Bachman -TurnerOverdrive with Fred Turner, reports thatbecause he had been successful in getting anew record deal for himself several monthsago, "with the help of Graham Henderson," hehad given notice to Bruce Allen and B.T.O.that he "would not be touring with them thissummer as I was pursuing a dream to makesome new music.

"That being accepted, it has come to myattention from several sources that Bruce Allenis lining up a summer booking schedule forB.T.O. throughout Canada and the U.S.A. andnot disclosing to the agents or promoters thatI am no longer with the band. They are usingthe logo B.T.O. and not Bachman -TurnerOverdrive, and have hired a singer/guitarplayer (his name is Randy) to take my place."

Bachman further advises that he has beenoffered dates in place of B.T.O., but that heisn't interested at this time. He stresseshowever, that he believes it is important to dotours and public performances, "when thetime is right to promote my new band andalbum."

getting airplay there. So we're going to resolvethe problem by putting in a 1-800 number forradio to give to their listening audience whenthey call in. The listener can call that numberand actually buy direct from a distributor withthatpiece ofproduct that they're looking for."

All orders will be paid by VISA,MasterCard, money order or certified cheque.Customers will receive an updated cataloguewith each order and inquiries concerningnon -catalogued items will be followed up.

Artists interested in joining IDAC arerequired to pay a membership fee of $160.60per year for the first title and $75 for eachadditional title. Special rates apply for largercatalogues. Ten pieces ofproduct are requiredto start and members will receive 70 per centof the retail price. Members will receive astatement four times a year with applicablepayments enclosed. The program is non-exclusive and members can use any othermeans to distribute their product along withIDAC.

The program will initially focus oncountry radio but acts from all formats areinvited to join.

A dog and pony show ... ! I think it'stotally unfair for artists and their managementto be asked to supply interventions on behalfof radio stations. These people have enoughodds stacked against them already. Butsupporting one radio station against another isreally looking for trouble. The rhetoric that'sspouted out at these hearings, whether bydesign or accident, can be real demeaning. One country programmer, who was at theCRTC hearing in Toronto, was obviouslydevastated by some of the remarks that weremade, albeit generalising on the state ofcountry radio in the Toronto/Hamiltonlistening area. He has been very supportive ofCanadian country artists and he didn't deserveto be trashed. I also wonder if the CRTC

commissioners really read all the printinterventions. In some cases, the pages and'pages of names resemble a phone book. Howtime consuming and how trite. (EC: A dog andpony show . . . ?)

You done good Scott Richards . . . I

Trooper lives and can you believe it . .. theypacked Lulu's Roadhouse in Cambridge, Ont.to capacity with over 3,000 fans and wannabefans. It was Scott Richards, who as presidentof MCA many years ago, believed that thiswest coast band had the makings to be asupergroup. His creativeness and dedicationto the band has yet to be matched, and itworked. Trooper became one of the glitteringstars of Canada's rather wanting star systemof that day. Taking a quick glance throughRPM's archives, there they were, Trooper:Ramon (Ra) McGuire, Brian Smith, HarryKalensky and Tommy Stewart, on the frontcover of the September 13, 1975 issue. (EC:Amazing what can be done when the companybelieves . . . from the top down! ! !)

Art Graham is on the loose ... ! I wassorry to hear that Art Graham is no longer withSony Music. He is one of the most creativepeople in the business, because he's patchedinto the street . . . just like the suds people.Dunno what happened, but, with that kind oftalent, I'm sure he won't be loose for long.(EC: Onward and upward . . . !)

Give me a break!!! I would like to see ONEforeign act to come to Toronto and not scream"Hello Tor -on -to" over and over again. Gotnews for you guys!!! Everyone of you soundridiculous saying "TOR -ON -TO". Get a script.(EC: Grow up! ! !)

When it comes to handouts ... ! Atticpresident Al Mair sent me a chart from CultureAnd Communications: The Tics That Bind, agovernment publication. It's the report of theStanding Committee on Communications andCulture, dated April 1992, and there are somepretty startling revelations. The 1989-90expenditures for Sound Recording was $6.2million .. . that's $6 million plus, and not tooshabby, you might say. But hang on. Book andperiodical funding totalled $274.3 million,267 million, 254 million went to film andvideo, $122.2 million to the performing artsand, lookee here, million was handedover to fund museums, archives, libraries, natural and historic parks and sites. Al brokeit down for me. Obviously sound recording isthe least funded, with total funding being 2.4per cent of film and video funding, 2.3 percent of book and periodical funding, 5.1 percent of performing arts and .8 per cent ofmuseums, archives, etc. Not that I believe infunding, but if the taxpayers are being goredthat much, wouldn't it make more sense togive more to an industry where there's at leasta return? (EC: It's the beauties at Culture andCommunication that should be gored . . . I)

Attention! Juno people . . . ! If you'relooking for a REAL set for next year's show, wander on up to Canada's Wonderland andcheck out the Canterbury Theatre. The set isclean and simple, moves like clockwork anddoesn't take away from the players. I'll bet

you can rent it CHEAP!! (EC: Who wants acheap set . . .? On the other hand, who wantsa set . . ?)

Remember Peter Foldy ? Peter had agiant hit a few years back with Bondi Junction, his only real kick at the can, not that he's a onetrick pony. He always kept his hand in themusic side of the business but moved to LosAngeles and got involved in movies. He hasdirected and produced several films and writtenmore than a few scores. Now, he's moved upinto the heavy hitters and is directing andproducing Deadly Exposure, which he alsowrote. Taking starring roles are Jan MichaelVincent and Maxwell Caulfield. The film isbacked by 21st Century. (EC: You wait longenough and doors will open . . . !)

What's in a song ... ? I was leafing throughsome old RPMs the other day anq in the April18, 1981 edition who do you think had the No.1 record on the AC chart? It was Ron Irvingand he topped the chart with Bluebird, thesame song that won him a Composernomination this year in the Big CountryAwards. Little did he realize that 11 yearslater, thanks to Anne Murray recording thesong, that he would be catapulted into the bigtime. Lee Greenwood recorded one of hissongs, and they're beginning to line up for hismaterial. What's in a song? Are you crazy?Millions of dollars. If you have a hit song, youmake money even as you sleep. No more roadtours and dealing with tavern jerks and uncleanpromoters for Ron Irving. (EC: Uncleanpromoters . . . ?)

Majors pollute,' III When those full pagecover sheets come off the fax . . filled withchemicals ... wasting trees, and contain onlytwo words ... I say, "what a waste!" When it'sa major record company and 3/4 of the page isBLANK, just think of thepollution this causes.(EC: Name that major record company!!!)Another major polluter is RF, who must standthere and look for a long time before heflushes!!!

Part Four of a series - Videos are an important part of the music industryChampniss looks for new alternatives in music videosby Steve McLeanThe youthful looking face and British accent of Kim Clarke Champniss have become familiarto viewers of MuchMusic and The New Music over the past five years. But the 37 -year -old washeavily involved in the music industry for years before appearing on our television screens.RPM talked to Champniss over a couple of pints in this continuation of our series on musicvideos in Canada.Champniss was one of Vancouver's mostpopular night club disc jockeys before hedecided to leave working with recorded musicand start dealing with live bands. He managedImages In Vogue for three -and -a -half yearsand worked as an agent for a number ofalternative bands. Alternative acts remain closeto Champniss' heart and he credits them withbeing the first to use videos extensivelybecause they couldn't get radio airplay.

"Without them (videos), the alternativescene would probably not have grown the wayit has," he says. "I despised the catering ofmediocrity that radio, particularly in that era,was going through."

And despite the high costs of making

Guns N' Roses play livewith Soundgarden on TVThose fans who haven't been able to catchGuns N' Roses live have a chance to see thenext best thing on June 6.

Guns N' Roses Invade Paris, a livetelevised taping of the band's Paris concert, will be shown here at 9 p.m. on a pay per viewbasis by Viewer's Choice. The show, whichwill cost $19.95 plus tax, is being distributedby PolyGram Television International.Westwood One Radio will also be simulcastingthe event to affiliated Canadian stations.

The band apparently has a few surprisesin store for the concert, including unannouncedguests. Opening the show will be Soundgarden, whose Badmotorfinger album was at No. 80on the RPM 100 Albums chart last week.

videos, Champniss says that youngindependent bands are in a good positionbecause they have to be far more creative tobreak through and yet aren't weighed down bya record company or imposing management. He recommends using eager film students tohelp out with the making of videos and applyingto VideoFact to help with financing.MuchMusic funds VideoFact to assistupcoming acts and it also profiles many ofthem on its Indie Street program.

"Great videos can be made cheaply. Butit comes back to the idea. If they've got a greatidea they can do it," Champniss says.

Champniss joined MuchMusic inSeptember, 1986. He first hosted Rock Flash, then produced and co -hosted Fax in 1989. Thenext year he started hosting City Limits andworking on special assignments likedocumentaries on ska music, Bob Marley andthe annual Reggae Sunsplash concerts inJamaica. Currently he is producing and doingassignments for The New Music and he hasalso been a member of the powerfulMuchMusic music committee for the pasttwo -and -a -half years.

The music committee meets everyTuesday and screens an average of 60 newvideos each week to decide what will make iton television. There are 105 spaces in activerotation (including heavy, medium, light, breakout and recurrent) and only 12-15 newvideos are added each week. Champniss admitsthe competition is stiff.

"Videos vying for these 12 spots each

week have got to be fresh, have got to beintriguing, and they definitely have to getaway from the visual clichés like the fallingchampagne glass which shatters in slowmotion. Particularly given the limited budgetsof Canadian companies... many directors endup going into formulized scripts and you cansee it's not new, it's not unique, it's not fresh.I think that directors have to work a little bitharder to be unique. From our point of view,we are craving for creativity out there. Weprogram what we like. There's no great magicto it."

Because of all the competition inCanada's relatively small marketplace andthe harsh economic climate we're currentlyexperiencing, Champniss thinks recordcompanies may have to re-examine theirpolicies on videos and either cut back on themor save them for later on down the road. FromMuchMusic's perspective, he says, there aretwo ways of looking at the situation.

"If you do it right, it's exposure and it'sbreakthrough and it's beyond what radio cando because it goes nationally and it adds theextra dimension of the charisma of the artist.

"If it backfires, you've spent $30,000and been rejected and we won' tplay it. Whereelse are you going to go in Canada? You'releft with Video Hits and Good Rockin' Toniteand whatever fringe stuff that you can getwhich really won't give them the breakout orthe return that they need to recoup theirinvestment.

"I don't think you can underestimatehow important it is when it actually works. Atits best it can change people's lives. At itsworst it makes people change the station."

Doyle Bramhall II was amember of The Fabulous Thunderbirds andalso sat in with Vaughan. Former guitarprodigy Charlie Sexton was Influenced byVaughan's blues -rock style. SUBWAY ELVISMIKE McTAGGARTInside OutIndependent - PMH-001Mike McTaggart became known toCanadians as Subway Elvis back In 1970when he was discovered singing Presleytunes for people awaiting trains on theToronto underground. Since then he hasrecorded an album and played with some ofthe biggest names in retro-rock. But in themid -'80s, McTaggart lost almost five yearsof his career and spent 20 months in custodyafter being wrongfully arrested in connectionwith a series of bank robberies. His namewas cleared in June, 1990, and Inside Outis McTaggart's first recording since heregained his freedom. The layoff didn't affecthis Elvis impersonation abilities at all. Infact when listening to the album, you startthinking that maybe the King really is stillalive. McTaggart covers a variety of tunes, from the blues of Elmore James, Jeff Healey, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, to updatedversions of rock classics like Sweet LittleSixteen and Dream Lover. Although heincludes the Boudleaux and Felice Bryant-

written Take A Message To Mary, about aman not wanting his beloved to know he'sin jail, he wisely doesn't go for the obviousand do Jailhouse Rock or Folsom PrisonBlues. McTaggart wrote one original songand collaborators Ken Tobias and DenisKeldie also contributed. Guitarist SteveBriggs and keyboardist Keldie shine withtheir instrumentation. The album doesn'tbreak any new ground and, at 35 minutes,it's a bit short. But I like It anyways. Abook about his case of mistaken Identityis In the works and a movie Is also apossibility. TERRY gHERIDANIf I Had WingsShadow - SHR-901Campbellford, Ont. native Sheridan hasbeen making good inroads with his singlesreleased to date, and this new album shouldgain him a few more supporters in countryradio. Six of the 10 tracks were written bySheridan and producer Ron Demmans andrecorded in Campbellford. The rest, writtenby various Nashville writers, were recordedIn Nashville. Key here are A Long WayFrom Lonely, written by Billy Dean, BillKenner and Thom McHugh, and the titletrack, written by Billy Montana and KarenStaley. Also key are the Sheridan/Demmanspenning of I Wanna Fly and If Love's A OneWay Street. (CD reviewed) - WG

TRACY CHAPMANMatters Of The HeartElektra - CD 61215-PTracy Chapman surprised everyone in 1988when she stormed to the top of the chartswith both her self -titled debut album and itssingle, Fast Car. Her follow-up, however, was a commercial failure. On Matters OfThe Heart, Chapman has set out to proveshe's more than just a flash in the pan. Andshe has enlisted a lot of big name people tohelp her do it: Living Colour guitarist VernonReid; Bruce Springsteen keyboard playerRoy Bitten; Tom Petty guitarist MikeCampbell; veteran studio guitarist WaddyWachtel; bass master Tony Levin; andmembers of Peter Gabriel's band. Chapmanco -produced the album with Jimmy lovine, who has worked with Springsteen and DireStraits In the past, and Bob Clearmountaindid the mixing. But all this outside talentseems to have been wasted, as Chapman'svocals and acoustic guitar overshadow thesubtle background accompaniment. Thetone of the album is quite moody asChapman sings about failed relationshipsand social injustice. Considering the recentLos Angeles riots, the first single, BangBang Bang, is unfortunately timely. Thesong was released before the L.A.tragedy but Its lyrics eerily foreshadowedthe violence that often accompanies racism, poverty and drug abuse. (CD reviewed)

THE SPENT POETSthe Spent PoetsGeffen - GEFD-24467-JThis five -piece band from San Francisco ishard to categorize. At various times, theireclecticism displays elements of LloydCole's whiny vocals, Lenny Kravitz's flowerchild soul, Beatle-esque pop, heavyfeedback, acoustic guitar and piano, and amusic hall/carnival-type feel. Most of thesongs were written or co -written by vocalistAdam Gates. His left coast flakiness Isreflected in totally irreverent lyrics and songtitles like Your Existential Past, Grassheads,Walt Whitman's Beard, He's Living WithHis Mother Now, Ali Ali Ackbar, The RocksIn Virginia's Dress, and Why Are YouSleeping With Mr. Brown? DC Drive brings Detroit to Canadians on CapitolThere aren't many cities with a moredistinguished musical past than Detroit. Fromhard rock to soul, the city has spawned someof the biggest names in the business. Now, ontheir self -titled debut album, DC Drive hastaken the influences of its hometown and putthem together in a slickly produced package.

Detroit is where Bob Seger, Ted Nugent,Grand Funk Railroad and Iggy Pop startedtheir careers. It's also the home of the legendaryMotown soul sound. DC Drive bassist DougKahan describes his band's approach to thismusical pedigree as, "Let's put The Supremesin bed with Ted Nugent."

All the members of DC Drive were friendswho played in a variety of bands before theycame together as a unit in June, 1988. Onemonth later they played their first gig in frontof 50,000 screaming fans while opening forCheap Trick.

"As soon as we played that first show weknew this thing was going to happen. Thechemistry was right," says drummer BrianPastoria.

The band soon got involved with twofilm projects, doing a song for the movie IronEagle. They worked with Vini Poncia on thesong, and he later went on to produce thecurrent album. The band (probably wisely)went incognito for its appearance in the otherfilm, The Purple People Eater.

"It was a real low budget thing. Thepurple people eater looks just like a purplebath rug," was the best thing Kahan had to sayabout the movie.

The band had a lot of local success witha song called You Need Love which wasincluded on a demo tape that was sent out toDetroit radio stations. An independent recordpromoter named Dick Williams passed thetape along and introduced the band to DeaneCameron and Tim Trombley ofCapitol Canada. They liked the band and signed them up.

"They really did understand what wewanted to do and they didn't try to screw withit. They were really cool about that. They hadtheir creative suggestions but they reallyrespected what we were doing. That's reallyhard to find in this business," Kahan says of

While In Toronto promoting her new RCA Divaalbum, Annie Lennox (I) dropped intoMuchMuslc for a chat with Erica Ehm.

the relationship which has evolved since thesigning.

With phones, faxes and Detroit beingsituated across the river from Canada, it hasn'tbeen aproblem for the band to be on a Canadianlabel. In fact the band likes this country andbelieves that people north of the border areoften more friendly and open-minded thanAmericans. The group has been playing anumber of dates through southern Ontario aswell as with former Kiss drummer Peter Crissin Montreal.

"Canadian crowds are a little bit moreconservative, but we win them over," sayslead singer Joey Bowen.

Triple platinum to Marc Jordan for writingRhythm Of My Heart for Rod Stewart'sVagabond Heart album, from Warner Music'sRoger Desjardins, Garry Newman and BillJohnston.

Scott Dibble sets out onunique Canadian rail tourScott Dibble left his home of Watertown, Ont.and arrived in St. John's on May 18 to begina unique 42 -day cross -Canada tour by rail. The tour will serve to launch his WEA debutalbum, One Phoebe Street.

Dibble is expected to stop in at least 40cities and towns from Cornerbrook, Nfld. toNanaimo, B.C., where he will visit with asmany radio programmers, retailers andentertainment writers as possible.

This isn't the first time Dibble has donesomething unusual with his career. In thewinter of 1991 he spent seven weeks travellingdown the Mississippi River and through thesouthern U.S. He admits that it was a watershedexperience for him and that the seeds for manyof the songs that are included on his PhoebeStreet album were planted during that trip.

"I was learning about the subtleties ofthe different lifestyles between the regions Iwas travelling I knew then that oneday I would have to travel across my owncountry if I was ever to appreciate our ownregional diversity."

Travelling by rail will allow Dibble theopportunity to meet and spend a little moretime with people. "I like the idea of crossingthe country at a leisurely pace. It's like thedifference between waving at someone frombehind the closed windows of a moving carand getting out, shaking hands and reallygetting to know them."

Memphis -based producer making waves in CanadaIn the past couple of years, Memphis -basedproducer/engineer Joe Hardy has had moresuccess working with Canadian acts than mostCanadian studio hands.

He's currently in Toronto to produce thenew album for the Jeff Healey Band. Butbefore leaving the warm sun and cold beer athis Memph is poolside, the laid-back yet cleverHardy phoned RPM to chew the fat about hispast work with Canadians.

Hardy's most successful Canadianproject thus far has been producing TomCochrane's six times platinum Mad Mad Worldalbum. Hardy had heard of Cochrane from hisRed Rider days and when he received somedemo tapes from Cochrane and Vancouver -based musician/producer John Webster, hewas immediately impressed. It wasn't toolong before Cochrane and his group werecutting tracks at Hardy's Ardent Studios inMemphis. Hardy felt that a lot of Cochrane'searlier work was "awfully machine -like" sohe tried to get some of that famous Memphissoul to rub off on Cochrane in what he describesas his "odd" studio.

"It's like if (southern author William)Faulkner owned a recording studio andeverybody was inbred and drinking mintjuleps," the well-read producer says in hisTennessee drawl. "We have a studio pig andtwo cats, but it's also very modern and techno."

The assembly then moved to a house inGeorgetown, Ont. which was quicklyconverted into a small studio for two monthsof overdubbing. Hardy, 39, returned toMemphis to mix the album.

"Everything went as smoothly as recordscan go. There are always tense moments andI guess we all yelled at each other some. Butthe beer really helped," he says.

Hardy's affinity for Canadian beer isn'tthe only reason he works with Canadian acts.He says music is often more interesting here

because both radio and MuchMusic are moreliberal with their p layl ists than their Americancounterparts.

"I really do believe that Canadians havean unwarranted inferiority complex," Hardysays. "I really don't think there's a hugedifference in tastes between Canadians andAmericans. The only advantage the UnitedStates has over Canada is the sheer number ofpeople.

"If Mad Mad World sold half a million inCanada, it should five million here.Everybody's just keeping their fingers crossedto see what's going to happen. Radio is sucha fucked up thing here that almost allcommercial success depends upon MTV."

Hardy also produced Colin James' lastalbum and mixed Kim Mitchell's recent AuralFixations release. He also mixed the upcomingLeslie Spit Tree -o album in Memphis wherehe says the band, and especially mesmerizinglead singer Laura Hubert, made a bigimpression. Hardy says Hubert soon knewevery cab driver and cop in the city by name.

"By the time she left here, everybodyknew her. They're all insane."

Hardy says he's sworn to secrecy about;the new Jeff Healey project but he promises'some surprises. "Some of the stuff they'redoing really shocked me. I really like it," hesays.

Because of his accomplishments in thepast couple of years, Hardy can afford to bechoosy about who he works with now. "WhenI have success with someone like Cochrane inCanada, I get a higher profile there. Andpeople want to use successful people. BasicallyI just sort of do what I like. It's really hard towork with assholes so I'm determined not todo that anymore.

"Between Healey, Cochrane and Colin ,I think those are the three best bands inCanada."

Hardy would welcome the opportunityto work with all three again. The same goes forthe Leslie Spit Tree -o and Mitchell. Whenasked if there are other Canadians whosemusic he's interested in, he names Blue Rodeoand young Vancouver guitarist David Gogo.

And what aboutpeop le he wouldn't workwith?

"I don't think I'd want to do a BryanAdams record. I wouldn't have the fortitude towork on it for two years. It seems like therewas a lot of indecision and bullshit going on."

4nceQ: What are the Big Country Awards?A: It all began at a two day conference inSeptember of 1973. In 1975 the first Big CountryAwards banquet was held in the Cafe deL'Auberge of the Inn on the Park in Toronto.Subsequent award banquets were held inEdmonton, Ottawa, Regina, Toronto andWinnipeg.Q: Are there two events on this weekend?

:A charity luncheon is held on Friday (June 5)when the Variety Club salutes Big Country andCanadian country music. Two days later theBig Country Awards banquet is held, at whichtime television covers the announcement andpresentation of the awards.Q: How are the nominees picked?A: The nominations are based on chart action inRPM in the previous year. The ballots aremailed to RPM subscribers. This system allowsfor a good mix of voters and makes it lesspossible for groups or blocks to control the votes. The winners only become known when theenvelopes are opened on stage at the banquet.

Q: Do the awards feature musicalperformances?A: The Variety luncheon does. The Sundaynight awards dinner is followed by the openingof the envelopes and the announcement of thewinners. The event is designed to be an industryget-together, a chance to rub shoulders with theheavyweights in the industry. It's a night setaside for the industry. It's very unique.Q: Are meetings and conferences a part ofthis event?A: No. We believe there are a great number ofconferences going on throughout the year andthat there is no need for anymore. There is agreat need for industry camaraderie.

S....Q: How many categories are there?Exactly one dozen (12). The Big Country Awardsare very prestigious and we limit the numbereach year to 12. It brings greater importance tothis award.Q: Is this the first year for the awards to betelevised?A: Yes. The show will be an inside look at aclosed industry event. For the first time, thepublic will have a look behind the scenes at anindustry award show. The show will be televisedon Sunday evening (June 7) and aired thefollowing day (8).

9: Isn't $100 per person a little tooexpensive for a banquet?A: Once the $100 is paid (plus GST), that's it.There are no other charges for drinks, coatchecking or dinner wine. The evening will be aposh affair in a very elegant setting designed tobring prestige to the Canadian country industry. It's an event for the industry. Once ayear we gettogether for a very special industry evening.Your payment will be confirmed to you bytelephone and fax and your table arrangementswill be handed to you at the door. THERE ARENO TICKETS. Cocktails are at 7 p.m. anddinner is at 8 p.m. Dress elegantly, not black tie.g: Is it possible to reserve a table?A.:Yes. Tables of 10 can be reserved ahead, ifyouget a group together and arrange that they willall pay in advance. Mail all the payments in thesame envelope. We must have all the names inadvance.g: Will it be possible to pay at the door?

Definitely not! For an event of this kind, advance planning makes it impossible tcarrange any additional meals. You must beconfirmed at least four days prior to the banquet.

The next Quadrapak 4X4 willbe released the first week in June. The lineupof talent features Dick Damron, Monika,Michael Dee and Thomas Allen Ross. Irwinexplains that Damron did a session in Nashvillelast year to commemorate 35 years in thebusiness, "and we are using those songs fromthat session." Damron's four songs areCountryfied, High On You, Susan Flowersand One Nite Stand. The bonus track will beJesus It's Me Again. Monika, who won AlbertaFemale Vocalist, Calgary and Area Entertainer, and Alberta Single of the Year for Jack Danielsat last year's Country Music Association ofCalgary, also contributes four selectionsincluding her current single, I Forgot To TellMy Heart.
