` Sunday of the Righteous and Just

“As you did it not to one of the least of these,

you did it not to me”

Gospel Reading: Matthew 25:31-46

There seems to be an inseparable link between love of God and love of neighbor. The

first letter of John states that: “If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he

is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God

whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves

God must also love his brother.” (1 John 4:20-21 ESV)

Separation is an inevitable consequence of judgment. The Day of Judgment will

reveal who showed true compassion and mercy toward their neighbor. As much as

we might like to judge the parables, the parables, nonetheless, judge us. Jesus teaches

us a very important lesson about loving our neighbor and taking responsibility for

others.

God will judge us not only for the wrong we have done but also for what we have

failed to do. Now is the time of God’s mercy for seeking his help and grace to turn

away from sin and to walk in his way of love. Ask the Lord to purify your heart that

you may love as he loves and live charitably with all. Do you treat your neighbor

with mercy and love as Christ has treated you?

"Lord Jesus, be the Master and Ruler of my heart. May your love rule in my heart

that I may only think and act with charity towards all my brothers and sisters.”

Father Victor Daw O.M.M.

Church Cleaning February

Ahlam Soloman

We wish to offer our deepest condolences to

Julia Joubran and the Joubran family on the death of Tom

Joubran who passed away Thursday, January 26th. Tom’s

funeral was held here at Our Lady of Lebanon Church

Tuesday morning.

"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual

light shine upon him."

Condolences

Our next food drive for the Holy

Angels Warming Shelter and the

North End Soup Kitchen will be the

weekend of February 11th

.We are

again asking for donations of non-

perishable food items. These can be

left in the drop box by the church

entrance during the week or dropped

off before or after masses on the

weekend. Remember to ask friends

and family to participate.

It would also be nice if everyone

who attends the St. Maron’s Hafli

on Saturday could bring a can of food to donate.

Also, you will notice we have a blue container labeled “Hope

in a Box” outside the doors of the church. This is designated

for donations of personal care items such as razors, soap,

shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. which we will be

collecting weekly for Catholic Charities.

If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
