Over the past 27 years, DuPage PADS has moved from just
managing homelessness to actually treating the whole
person and providing a SOLUTION to end homelessness.
We can all do something incredible by working together to
offer these people hope and possibility. Volunteer to walk
beside and care for those in our community that are
homeless. On Friday nights in July and August we host
our PADS guests at the Celebration! Campus. You can
help these people by making their stay with us enjoyable
and friendly. We invite you to take time to sign up on

“asking that…you may lead a life worthy of the Lord…” - that
was the hope of the author encouraging the Colossians in the first
century. (1:10) Accordingly, we too are encouraged to lead a life
worthy of the Lord! And just what might this look like?
Interestingly enough the gospel (Luke 10:25-37) of the Good
Samaritan is the accompanying text for this Sabbath. Every pious
Jew knew the answer in leading a good life: Love the Lord your God with all
your heart, mind, soul, and strength…and your neighbor as yourself.
Translated, this means that one reflects God’s mercy in responding to one’s
neighbor. In these summer months of July and August, disciples at Our
Saviour’s are asked to reach out to our neighbor -- for in so doing, we experience
the living God who reaches out to us in Jesus the Christ. This good news comes
to us again today at the font, the altar, and from the pulpit. It is very near to you.
Oh, and by the way, may you rejoice in leading such a life!

Are you often wondering who that is that sits next to you at church? Have you
heard someone’s name but are not sure what they look like? The photo
directory helps us get to know each other better. We hope you will take the
opportunity to have your picture taken. You will receive a FREE 8 x 10 picture
and there is no purchase or fees required.
Our first photo session is July 23-27. This is a great time for
families with college students to get their picture taken! Scan

There is also an opportunity for our Christian Brothers
Community as well as members of our congregation to place their business
ad in the directory.
We are looking for 8 volunteers each day to serve as Sign-Up
Coordinators as well as Host Coordinators. Multiple time slots

Who’s My Neighbor
PADS:
Walk beside and care for our PADS guest this
summer on Friday nights in July and August at
Celebration!. PADS is only successful if we have
many volunteers to help. We are in need of
volunteers especially for evening and early
morning shifts. Sign up on line at
oursaviours.com/serving others/local.
Donate new T-shirts and undies (boxers) for PADS
guests. We are in need of large sizes for men.
Donations can be made in the baskets provided at
the display table.

Transitional Living: Supports both the Bridge Communities and Refugees
ministries.
Help refugees get settled by donating basic household items. Stop by
the display table for more details.
Help Bridge Communities with gas and grocery cards. All the details
are at the display table in the Fellowship Center and at Celebration!
Campus.
Baby Care Ministry: Serving God’s youngest in need, locally. Baby Care
kits will be assembled in September, and go to mother’s who need basic
supplies to take care of their newborns. Looking for donations of:
Lightweight cotton t-shirts
Long- or short-sleeved gowns or sleepers (without feet)
Receiving blankets, medium-weight cotton or flannel, or crocheted or
knitted with lightweight yarn, up to 52" square
Flannel sheets
Jackets, sweaters or sweatshirts with a hood, or include a baby cap
Socks
Hand towel, dark color recommended
These can be dropped off in the pink and blue boxes at the display. We are
also looking for people to cut diapers and wash clothes. If you have

You’re invited to a special worship weekend, Sunday, July 28.
Tomáš Gulán from the Center for Christian Education will be preaching at all
Sunday services. His wife Slávka Gulánová will be teaching the Sunday
Morning Adult Forums. Watch for more details!
It's not too late for The Fine Art Camp Your
children are invited on July 29 -August 2, to attend
The Fine Art Camps. Children have the option to
participate in singing, dancing, drama, percussion,
art, and puppetry. Grades K-2 will meet from 9:00 -
11:15 am and Grades 3-8 will meet from 11:30-

Summer Sunday School
Summer Sunday school will be held at Celebration! The classes meet during
the 10:00 am service for children ages 3 through 6. Lessons filled with Bible
stories, games, and activities for the children will be provided. Church school

Women’s Ministry
Calling All Women at Our Saviour’s - Women In
Action (formerly CARE Free Moms) is sponsoring an
evening to serve at PADS on Friday, August 9 at
Celebration. All women of Our Saviour’s are invited
to sign up for the 6:00 pm - 11:00pm shift to help
serve dinner to our PADS guests. Come share your
faith and build fellowship as a group of Women in Action! Go to

your name! There are other shifts available also. Impact those around you -
and see the difference a group of Women in Action can make! Don't delay -

Disability Ministries - Deaf ministry is a significant part of our work. Since
spring Celebration campus has been the site of a signed service. If you have
the gift of signing and are interested in being a part of this vital ministry

SPIRITUAL GROWTH TOGETHER.
As our church grows larger, we need to also grow smaller
so people don't get lost in the shuffle. Small groups are
meant to give life! Christ launched the church by starting
with a small group of people who ate together, learned
together, served together, and supported one another in
their daily walk. These small groups are open for anyone

weekly worship message.

It is with great joy that Ashley invites you to join her, as she is ordained as a
Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of
America. It has been a long journey getting here, and you—the people of Our
Saviour's—have played a crucial role in that journey. You have been avid
supporters and encouragers; you have been, and continue to be, brothers and
sisters in Christ. Each and every one of you is invited to celebrate this special
day for her and for the Church.
Following her ordination, Tim and Ashley will be moving to Urbana, Illinois,
where she will be serving as the Associate Pastor of Youth and Family at St.

Youth Ministries Summer Hang Out Information
The high school ministry will be meeting for fun and fellowship from 6:00 -
8:00 pm at the Celebration! campus on the following dates this summer: 7/14,

C.A.R.E. Moms picnic will be hosting their annual picnic at Celebration! from
5:00 - 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 4. All College-age youth and their families
are invited and encouraged to attend for a relaxing meal and gathering time.
