Our Mission: Sacred Heart School provides a strong academic community, centered around the Catholic faith, respecting the uniqueness of each individual, and promoting a life-long love of learning. Skating Students have two more days of skating next week. They will skate on Monday and Wednesday. It is amazing to see the improvement after 2 times skating. Please send in an extra pair of socks for students to wear while skating in PE. End of Quarter 3 Our 3rd quarter ended today. We will plan to send report cards home on Thursday. We ended up with almost all of our students meeting their goal-97%! Cake Walk Our annual Cake Walk will be on Friday, March 13. The walk will run from 9:30-11:30 and 12:30-2:45. Grab your change, wear your green, and join us for a fun day! Students can wear their green attire to Mass unless they are a reader, taking up the gifts, or in choir. Those students will need to come in uniform and change after. Parents are able to take their children out for lunch during the 11:30-12:30 break. If you plan to take your child out of the building, please send a note to your child’s teacher. You are also welcome to bring food to school and eat lunch with your child. Fundraiser As of today, we have raised $11,244 for our technology goals. Thank you to everyone who has donated!

State Testing Our first round of state testing this spring is IREAD, which is a test our 3rd grade students will take. Ms. Koors and I have scheduled this test for the week before Spring Break. Students will take the practice test on Monday, March 16. They will take the actual test on Tuesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 19. This test is evaluating the reading skills of our students. Please make sure your child gets a good night of sleep before testing and eats a good breakfast. All 3-6 grade students will take ILEARN in late April/early May. The testing window opens on April 20 and ends on May 15. Voucher Applications for 2020-2021 I will be sending home applications for vouchers for the next school year after Spring Break. The income amounts are posted at this site: https://www.doe.in.gov/choice. Once there, click on student eligibility. When applications are returned, we will need a copy of your 2019 tax return that shows the Adjusted Gross Income. We would really like these returned by the end of April so we can have contracts ready to be signed during May. I know some people like to plan ahead so I wanted to get the information to you before the paperwork comes home.
