Message from the Principal
Cancellation of Athletics Carnivals A few weeks ago the NSWPSSA decided to cancel the State Athletics Championships which were due to be held at Homebush in Sydney. Following on from this decision last week, Western SSA have decided to follow suit and have also cancelled their Athletics Carnival due to be held late in Term 3. Dubbo District PSSA have also cancelled their carnival and we were going to hold our school carnival but we are not allowed to have parents in attendance, so all Athletics Carnivals for 2020 have been cancelled.
P & C Pie Drive Notes for the P & C’s first fundraiser for a while will go home this week and with all that’s been happening it’s nice to return to a bit of normal. A pie drive has been organised by the P & C and orders plus money are due back to school by next Wednesday, 1st July. Orders can be placed and paid for through the front office in either cash or directly into the P & C’s bank account.
SRC Back In Action It was great to have our first mini assembly for a while yesterday where Merit Awards and Certificates and Student of the Week certificates where handed out. It has been great to celebrate student achievement in front of the school as students who achieve success deserve to be recognised. At the moment we can only hold assemblies that last no more than 15 minutes with no parents/carers in attendance. Hopefully this will change in Term 3. In another show of a return to normal the SRC have organised an out of uniform day during Week 10.
School Uniform It would be great to receive the ongoing support of our school community by continuing to send students to school in

uniform. The majority of students have been doing this and they look great, but there are a few students who continually wear black, blue and other coloured tracksuit pants to school. The school and P & C have tried to ensure uniforms are fairly flexible and easy to source, by allowing any variation of either green or grey shorts, skorts, tracksuit pants and cargo pants to be worn as school uniform.
Absences from School This week Mrs Williams is absent from school on personal business so Red will be taught by Miss Grace Connell for the 5 days. I will be absent from school on Thursday and Friday of this week and have asked Mrs Wallace to relieve for me on Thursday and Mrs Letfallah on Friday. If you have any questions/queries you would normally direct at me on these days, please ask to speak to one of these ladies.
BroSpeak Mural Nearing Completion The mural that Relieving AEO Mr Jackson, Mr McAuliffe and the BroSpeak boys have designed and painted on the exterior wall of 1/2L is nearing completion and looking great. The boys hope to have the mural completed by the end of next week and then hold a parent/carer celebratory BBQ on Friday. It’s looking very nice and everyone involved has done a fantastic job!
Have a great week. Toby Morgan, Principal

Recipe for a One Eyed Brain
Take: A mammoth’s brain and a whale shark’s eye and a little invisible body from a ghost.
Add: The whale shark’s eye to the mammoth’s brain, then squish the ghost’s body into the brain. The last thing is to chop up an octopus and mix the tentacles into the brain.
Stir: Boogers and super glue together to make the most ultimate glue. Then stir in razor sharp knives to make the mouth. Now stir in floatation devices to make it float.
Decorate: With lots of bandages to look like a mummy, paint from a hardware store And gather fake blood from BigW. Now you have to cook our beast at 300 degrees for 100 years. Now, BEWARE of what you have made!
