Knight led the Cardinals to a 6-0 win at DePaul on Oct. 3. The junior forward notched two goals and one assist for five points to help Louisville score its highest number of goals in a game since Oct. 16, 1999 with a 6-1 win over Belmont. Knight crossed the ball to his offensive counterpart Colin Rolfe for the gamewinner in the fourth minute of play. He then went on to score his first goal from three feet in front of the goal in the 13th minute and found the net again in the 16th minute with a scramble in front of the DePaul net. This is Knight’s first career BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honor and the first for Louisville since Sept. 29 of last season when current junior Austin Berry won. Brickley led the Huskies as they recorded their third straight shutout over a BIG EAST team and sixth of the year with the 1-0 win over then-No. RV/13 Georgetown on Oct. 3. Brickley and the Huskies held the Hoyas to just one shot on goal and a total of six shot attempts. Georgetown was limited to its time in the goal box as the defense held tight for 90 minutes. The defensive player of the week award goes to Connecticut for the second straight week and Brickley earns the honor for the first time in his career. Attinella recorded his fourth shutout of the year with a 1-0 home victory over Cincinnati on Oct. 3. The junior keeper made seven saves in the 90 minutes of play. Attinella came up with a huge save when Cincinnati was awarded a penalty kick with eight minutes remaining in the game to preserve the Bulls’ 1-0 lead. Attinella also won the award on Sept. 14, and has now won goalkeeper of the week for the second time in his career. Jones earned the first shutout of his collegiate career in a 3-0 win at Rutgers on Oct. 2. The redshirt freshman made five saves, all in the second half, to help the Orange end their seven-game losing streak and earn the team’s first blank sheet of the year. Jones was the last line of defense against a Rutgers team that entered the match averaging 1.38 goals per game. This is the first rookie of the week honor for Syracuse since current senior Hansen Woodruff was named on Oct. 9, 2006. Knight led the Cardinals to a 6-0 win at DePaul on Oct. 3. The junior forward notched two goals and one assist for fi ve points to help Louisville score its highest number of goals in a game since Oct. 16, 1999 with a 6-1 win over Belmont. Knight crossed the ball to his offensive counterpart Colin

Rolfe for the gamewinner in the fourth minute of play. He then went on to score his fi rst goal from three feet in front of the goal in the 13th minute and found the net again in the 16th minute with a scramble in front of the DePaul net. This is Knight’s fi rst career BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honor and the fi rst for Louisville since Sept. 29 of last season when current junior Austin Berry won.

Brickley led the Huskies as they recorded their third straight shutout over a BIG EAST team and sixth of the year with the 1-0 win over then-No. RV/13 Georgetown on Oct. 3. Brickley and the Huskies held the Hoyas to just one shot on goal and a total of six shot attempts. Georgetown was limited to its time in the goal box as the defense held tight for 90

minutes. The defensive player of the week award goes to Connecticut for the second straight week and Brickley earns the honor for the fi rst time in his career.

Offensive Player of the WeekMegan Mischler, West Virginia, Jr., F

Mischler earns BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season.

The junior forward totaled four points, including two goals in a 1-1-0 week for the Mountaineers. In a 3-2 overtime loss against then-No. 8/10 Notre Dame on Oct. 2, Mischler scored in the 39th minute to tie the game 1-1. In a 2-0 shutout victory against DePaul on Oct. 4, she netted the gamewinner in the 54th minute.

Defensive Player of the WeekKat Weiler, Pittsburgh, Jr., D

Weiler earns BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors following her performance

in helping the Pitt defense in a 1-0-1 week. Weiler and the Panthers posted a 2-1 overtime win against DePaul on Oct. 2, as well as a 0-0 double-overtime draw against then-No. 10/8 Notre Dame on Oct. 4. It was the team’s seventh shutout of the season and the first time the Irish have been shutout by a league opponent since Oct 13, 2006 at UConn.

Goalkeeper of the WeekAndrea Kaminski, Cincinnati, Sr., GK

Kaminski earns BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors following a 1-0-1 record last weekend. The senior totaled 18 saves over

200 minutes and allowed just one goal. In a rain-soaked 1-1 double-overtime tie at Syracuse on Oct. 2, Kaminski made 10 saves. She followed up that performance with eight saves in a 1-0 shutout victory at then No. 17/12 St. John’s on Oct. 4. It was her fourth shutout of the season. This is her second BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honor this year.

Rookie of the WeekLinda Ruutu, Connecticut, Fr., M

Ruutu earns BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors following her performance in a 2-0-0 week for the Huskies. She scored two goals for

four points. In a 1-0 win over Villanova on Oct. 2, Ruutu scored the eventual gamewinner in the 14th minute. In a 2-1 win over Georgetown on Oct. 4, she netted the first goal of the game. This is her first BIG EAST Rookie of the Week award.

Stiver earned her second shutout of the season, a 1-0 victory over No. 20 Albany on Oct. 4, recording two saves. The freshman also made three stops in SU’s 5-2 win over No. 9 Massachusetts on Oct. 3. She currently ranks fi rst in the BIG EAST with a 0.93 goals against average, and stands in second in shutouts (2), shutouts per game (.18) and save percentage (.789). This is Stiver’s fi rst career player of the week honor.

Sherer tallied 14 points over three games last week for a 4.67 points per game average. The BIG EAST’s leading scorer recorded her third hat trick of the season at Quinnipiac on Sept. 29 in a 6-0 win. She then added two goals and an assist in the 6-1 win at Georgetown on Oct. 2, and fi nished the week with UConn’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss at No. 7 Princeton on Oct. 5. The senior leads the BIG EAST in shots (77), shots per game (6.42), points (48), points per game (4.00), goals (19), goals per game (1.58), assists (10) and game-winning goals (6). This is her fi fth weekly honor, putting her in a fi ve-way tie for the most weekly awards in one season in BIG EAST history. Sherer owns the record for most consecutive weekly awards with four.

No. 6 Syracuse tallied its sixth and seventh victories over ranked opponents last week after defeating No. 9 Massachusetts 5-2 and No. 20 Albany 1-0. The Orange now own more wins over top-20 teams than any other team in the country. Ten out of 11 of SU’s wins this season have come over ranked opponentts or teams receiving votes in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Coaches Poll.

Niemer, who has appeared on the Weekly Honor Roll for the fi rst fi ve weeks of the season, picks up her fi rst Player of the Week award. The outside hitter tal-lied 48 kills over 11 sets, leading the conference with a 4.36 kills-per-set average. She had back-to-back double-doubles with 22 kills and 13 digs in a road loss to Dayton, which is receiving votes in the AVCA Poll, and 19 kills and 14 digs in a four-set win against Pittsburgh. She added fi ve service aces against the Panthers which moved her into 10th place all-time on Cincinnati’s aces chart with 124. Over three games, Niemer boasted a 5.19 points-per-set average, good for second in the league.

Turner, a right-side hitter, tallied three straight double-digit kill games for the Bearcats. She totaled 32 kills for the week including 12 in a conference win versus Pittsburgh. Against the Panthers, the Ontario, N.Y., native boasted a .409 hitting percentage. Turner hit .300 for the week and had a team-best .381 average in conference play. The freshman also had three ser-vice aces, 14 digs and three blocks over 11 sets.
