Just like last week, we are going to be reading the Iron Man and doing some work about it. Each day, we will give you a little part to read, but if it is too hard, you can listen to it being read on YouTube. Make sure you follow the words while you are listening though!

• We found out last week that Ted Hughes was a poet. That means he is very good at describing things that give people a picture in their head.

• An adjective is a word that describes a noun.

• For some of the questions, we need to use inference. Inference is when we can work something out because of what is happening, even though the author might not have actually said what is going on.

A little boy went to the beach with his mum and dad. They bought him an ice cream. A seagull swooped down and took his ice cream. The little boy cried.

Even though the author doesn’t say so, we know the little boy is feeling sad about his ice cream because he cried.
