WEEKLY STUDY QUESTIONS February 10th - 16th, 2019 By grace we bear fruit: John 12:12-26 These are questions related to the sermon that you can use for personal study and prayer. Each week our Missional Communities, small groups of people trying to follow Jesus together, meet to discuss and apply these questions together. In John 12 we see Jesus go into Jerusalem as the Messiah/King prophesied in the Old Testament. He wasn’t the kind of King they expected, but He was the kind we needed. In John 12:20-28 we see what king of King Jesus is. What part of His life and ministry is Jesus referring to in these verses? 3. In John 12:24-26, Jesus describes the life of a disciple. How does He describe it? 4. Where do you see John 12:24-26 describing you? 5. Jesus calls His disciples to some hard things in this passage. What are they? Where are you following His call? Where are you resisting? 6. Even in describing a disciple, Jesus shows us that He goes first. He dies so that we may live. Read John 12:27-28. Jesus is going to the cross. Why? 7. What is a way you can follow Jesus by dying to yourself? What do you think that might mean for you?
