Drama Performance, Liverpool John Moores University “Misery for all to see”
WHO ARE WE ? M.F.A.T.S is a theatrically based organisation that wants to raise
awareness for mental health, through the arts, most notably depression and suicide in men. We are four drama students from
Liverpool John Moores University that wish to make a difference and help save the male.
THE CONNECT 5 SCHEME
The M.F.A.T.S team has taken part in two Connect 5 sessions concentrating on ways to work with mental wellbeing in everyday
practice. We have met some amazing people and learnt an incredible amount about
mental health.
We saw how people from all different backgrounds and occupations where willing
to educate themselves around mental wellbeing. We have only brushed the surface of mental health and we want to get people
talking about the elephant in the room.
M.F.A.T.S ONLINE Thanks to the help of: C.A.L.M, Paul White and Katie Johnson we have been able to reach over a thousands followers on our twitter page. For the last five months we have been spreading the message of mental health and promoting C.A.L.M’S fantastic support line from the hours of 5pm and Midnight. Using our web site www.mfats.co.uk we have collected over 30 stories and experiences from people who have been affected by suicide and depression.
MISERY FOR ALL TO SEE
Nothing is more powerful than using the words of real people. Every story you are about to see is real and taken from an experience of somebody in the world who has been affected in some way by mental health. Please don't be a man down. We hope you enjoy the performance.
