Sonya I’m sure you will have fun with the pretty and feminine colors in the kit this month. My granddaughter saw the princess card stock pack in the kit and promptly claimed it. Included is a tole sheet with at least 3 projects worth of great dimensional designs to work with. I used the *new side slotted tool to make the bell shapes from the elegant lavender quilling strips with ease, and it is my favorite of the slotted tools. *More on the new tool next month!!

Music and Roses Card Using the 3-D papier tole die cut sheet as the inspiration for the cards I dug out all of my music themed stamps, punches and dies. Technique Tuesday Glee stamp, Stampington sheet music stamp, Sizzix sheet music strip die, Fiskars lace

corner punch, Spellbinders classic oval scallop die, Punch Bunch fern leaf punch along with some music themed sayings that I printed off the computer and some pop dots to layer the printed papier tole pieces. With all of the musicians in my family I will have plenty of people to give these to!

Pack Rat “re-do”

This year a New Year resolution of mine is to be more organized…you see, I do not come by that naturally—I am more of a “stacker”. I make piles or stacks but, I do know where things are…when

I try to organize I just get flustered because I cannot find stuff; so wish me luck!

This plaque was just painted the first time around. I thought this tongue in cheek reminder needed a “re-do” to be up to date. I sanded and repainted

the wood, then printed out the saying on the computer which was then cut with a Spellbinder

labels 9 die. I also used the classic ovals scalloped and foliage dies. For the flowers I folded the 3/8”

strip in half lengthwise then fringed it and rolled it tight. I also used a ½” circle punch for center that was embossed to a round shape. I used the Punch Bunch sparkle punch to cover the center. For the petals I used the Punch Bunch cherry petal and a small snowflake punch to glue it all to. I used crème de

chocolat Glimmer Mist over the saying to add a bit of sparkle but it splattered some. Now it is ready to hang in my craft space as a reminder for me to keep things in order!

Guardian Angel Prayer This project was made with my little niece in mind. I have taught her how to quill…she loves to make things; she is my little crafting buddy. I hope she likes it! I prepped the wooden hanger then used decoupage glue to add the pink printed paper to the front. I printed the angel saying on the computer and again, used the Spellbinders oval and classic scallop ovals die. Then I made the angel body out of the 3/8” orchid pearl quilling strips. I used peach and chestnut 1/8” strips from my stash for the face, hands and hair. For the wings I used the Sizzix mini rosette die but only made it 8” long and only half of a rosette, one for each side. The foliage is a large and small fern Punch Bunch and the flowers are Punch Bunch mini lilac and flower 3. I also used the Punch Bunch small cherry blossom and Carl cherry blossom.

Lavender Bells Necklace and Earring Set

When I was making the bells for the foxgloves I thought that they would be really pretty as a jewelry element. They are strung on an eye pin with beads and hang in a waterfall from the earrings and the crystal studded filigree that holds the lariat style necklace closed. I added bead elements along the necklace chain for sparkle and added color. It could be worn either for a dressy or casual occasion.

Butterfly Tole Card I LOVE these sheets of pre-cut tole designs. I couldn’t wait to play with them and I punched all the pieces out and put them together first thing. They make beautiful layered dimensional images so easy and quick. The card is 6” x 6” and I used the large butterfly design from the tole sheet along with one of the smaller extra butterflies.

I added a bit of glitter glue to the wings for a bit of sparkle.

It makes a very pretty and feminine card for many occasions.

Foxglove Card I used an embossing/die cut folder as the background for the foxglove flowers made from the 3/8” lavender pearl strips. The wider strips are great for fringing but I wanted to use them to make these lovely bell foxglove flowers. The insides are colored with markers and white paint to mimic the real ones. Tiny seed beads accent the very top flowers for shimmer. I used the pretty matching paper from the kit to back

and peek out of the cut out design. Looped leaves and a bow finish this elegant card.
