Hello and Welcome to the 2014 Basketball State Finals Coaches Meeting.

Once again this years FHSAA Boys Basketball State Finals will be held at the Lakeland Center in Lakeland Florida.

The current dates and Admission Prices per Session are detailed here on the screen.

The Boys tournament will be held from Tuesday February 25th to Saturday, March 1st.

Admission price per session is $10.00

3Listed here is the updated schedule. Please note that if the games run into an overtime situation, these times are subject to change. You may also find this schedule on the FHSAA boys basketball webpage.

Each school will receive seven (7) floor/locker-room access passes to be used by coaches, managers, statisticians, trainers, medical personnel, administrators, team priests, chaplains, etc.

These passes will grant you access to the floor and locker room

They are for the use of the personnel listed on the official party gate list.

Each person will be checked off the list as they enter the facility.

If anyone loses or misplace passes, they will have to purchase a ticket to enter the facility.

4Cheerleaders from participating schools (same number who cheered for varsity games during the regular season).

Two (2) adult sponsors/coaches will be given free admission for only those sessions in which its team is scheduled to play.

A maximum of 16 cheerleaders will be allowed onto the floor.

Extra cheerleaders will be required to pay admission and sit in the stands.

Entrance to The Lakeland Center (TLC) is one hour 30 minutes (1:30) prior to the start of each session. We expect each participating team to be at TLC a minimum of one hour prior to scheduled tip time.

All players and coaches of participating teams must use the Player Pass Gate.

Teams may come dressed or dress at TLC. Participating teams shall be assigned to a dressing room adjacent (to the west) to the Player Pass Gate.

All team busses will unload on the north side of the Arena.

Once inside, your school will be given your locker room number and location

At the end of your game, you must leave from your side of the arena. For example, if your team is designated as the away team, your team will be required to leave from the north side exit. Your fans will be directed as well. 815-minute warm-up period prior to the start of each game.

Spalding Legacy basketballs will be provided. Warm-ups will be done at the basket at the opposite end of the court from where they will be sitting.

Game day schedule

9Teams will have a 15-minute warm-up period prior to the start of each game.

The FHSAA shall provide Spalding basketballs for each teams use during its warm-up period.

Each participating school is required to be present in the team locker room area in full uniform for your team photo as follows:

Visiting team 1 hour, 10 minutes prior to the tip-off time

The schedule listed will be used for the second game of a two game session. The clock will begin 3 minutes following the completion of the first game in session. 14

Pregame team Introductions

The National Anthem will be played prior to the start of each session.

Once the pledge of allegiance is completed. Coaches, players and team attendants will line up on the sideline in front of their bench, face the flag and stand at attention during the performance of The Star Spangled Banner.

8:00 The Introduction of visiting team non-starters, then home team non-starters will begin. These players shall proceed from their bench to the free throw line as they are introduced and remain there until all starters from both teams have been introduced. (Shown by dotted line)

Following, we will have the introduction of the starters and head coaches for both teams alternating between visiting team and home team. Each starter will proceed from his team bench to the jump circle and wait there as the name of his counterpart is called. The two players will then shake hands and join their teammates at the free throw line (Shown by the solid line)15Halftime:The court will not be available to teams for half-time warm-ups until the 3-minute mark on the game clock. Teams should plan accordingly.For championship games there will be a 12 minute half time.

16Participation IS MANDATORY. No exceptions will be made.

Completed Awards Presentation Lineup Sheet on which are to be listed the names of up to a maximum of 22 individuals who will receive medallions during the awards ceremony.

This sheet must also include the name of the Presenter for the school.

Must be given to the PA announcer prior to the start of pregame warmups.

Start five (5) minutes following the completion of the championship game. Awards presentation procedures

Participation in the awards ceremony by all coaches and players on both the champion and runner-up teams IS MANDATORY. No exceptions will be made.

2.Both semifinal winners must bring with them to the championship game a completed Awards Presentation Lineup Sheet on which are to be listed the names of up to a maximum of 22 individuals who will receive medallions during the awards ceremony. This sheet must also include the name of the Presenter for the school. This presenter should be the principal, athletic director or other administrator from the school with whom the players are familiar. The completed Awards Presentation Lineup Sheet must be given to the announcer prior to the start of pregame warmups.

3.The awards ceremony will begin approximately five (5) minutes following the completion of the championship game. This period will give both teams ample time to compose themselves.

Both teams will return to their respective team benches and prepare to line up in the order that they will receive their medallions as listed on the Awards Presentation Lineup Sheet.

Schools shall not alter the sheet to deviate from this order. A total of twenty-two (22) medallions are available for presentation to the champion and runner-up teams. Awards presentation procedures

The order in which the medallions will be presented is: Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, players in numerical order of their jerseys, and Managers.

The runner-up team will receive their awards followed by the championship team.

We ask that you wear no hats, sunglasses or any other extra accessories during the ceremony.

Both teams MUST remain in place throughout the entire awards presentation and show their respect for the other team as its receives its awards. Failure to do so is an act of unsportsmanlike conduct.

19Postgame Press ConferenceConducted following the conclusion of each game. Each head coach is required to attend this press conference. Media representatives may request up to three (3) players.Losing team will be taken first; followed by the winning team. The press conference will last from 10 to 15 minutes. You will be given approx. 5 min. before the conference. One-on-one interviews may be granted by the head coach.

Game day schedule

A press conference will be conducted following the conclusion of each semifinal game or championship game awards ceremony. Each head coach is required to attend this press conference.

Media representatives may request up to three (3) players from each team to attend the press conference as well. Their attendance, while not mandatory, is encouraged.

A member of the FHSAA staff will escort you from your locker room to the press conference. Representatives of the losing team will be taken first; followed by representatives of the winning team.

The press conference will last from 10 to 15 minutes.

You will be given approximately 5 minutes in your locker room before going to the press conference. As time is of the essence, you must be prepared to go when the FHSAA staff member knocks on your locker room door.

Interviews will not be permitted on the playing floor or anywhere else prior to the press conference.

One-on-one interviews may be granted at the discretion of the head coach following the conclusion of the press conference.
