The Traveller is Michiel Deenik’s third restaurant. He is launching this adventure with Neal Valentijn and close childhood friend, Jeroen van Brussel. The Traveller is located in the Cumulus Park in Amsterdam Zuidoost. The restaurant’s concept is inspired by the three men’s shared love of travel and the culinary voyage of discovery that comes with it.

The menu of The Traveller is adventurous, with a mix of traditional dish-es from around the world, all prepared according to modern cooking techniques. And with beers and wines originating from all corners of the earth, the bar menu offers a true voyage of discovery as well. The service and kitchen staff is also international in its make-up; something that will only enhance the authentic taste experience.

The Traveller is a new internationally oriented restaurant concept created by Michiel Deenik, head chef and owner of the restaurants Visaandeschelde and THE ROAST ROOMin Amsterdam.

The Traveller consists of the restaurant and the Upper Deck. The restaurant is located on the ground floor. Here you can order an à la carte breakfast, lunch or dinner and drinks. The restaurant also has a spacious, sunny terrace that, weather permitting, gives you a lovely view of the park. The Upper Deck is the perfect location for events and can be set up to meet everyone’s needs and preferences. The inspiring space has a large glass front and can accommodate conferences, meetings, cocktail parties or walking dinners for large groups.

The restaurant pavilion in which The Traveller is located was designed by Powerhouse Company and was developed by Edge Technologies and G&S Real Estate Developers. Studio BvanB worked with the architect to create the interior design. The building’s imposing glass

front with rounded corners, its high-grade wooden roof and surface area of more than 900 m2 place it within the realm of iconic design.

The Traveller is an inspiring place where not only employees of ING, but also students, businesspeople, local residents, shoppers and the nightlife crowd are all welcome to enjoy a tantalising breakfast, lunch or dinner from 8:00 in the morning to 1:00 at night. Because of this long-standing collaboration,Musiclaire knows The Traveller better than anyone and understand exactly what the possibilities are. Because every request is unique, we would gladly provide a made-to-measure quotation for services provided.

HOSTS & HOSTESSENYou can upgrade your event with the service of a professional hostess or host! In cooperation with the Stella Agency, The Traveller provides hospitality professionals with just the right personality, looks and attitude. A hospitality professional can be deployed as a hostess or host during your event and can also take on the job of registering attendees, assisting guests or distributing goody bags. She or he serves as your organisation’s calling card and as the contact person for your guests.

We charge the following rates: Hostess (for a minimum of 4 hours) € 32.50 per hourExtra styling (cheese waitress, champagne waitress, coffee waitress, oyster waitress, golden girls, etc.) add € 12 per person per day Champagne & food tray € 25 per day per tray

SHAKE ’N STYLEIn collaboration with SHAKE ’N STYLE, The Traveller provides professional cocktail catering during your event. The large supply of different cocktail bars and the possibility of hiring professional bartenders will guarantee your event is a big success. We would be happy to listen to you and to share our thoughts about this service and lay out the range of possibilities based on your wishes.

EXTRA SERVICESDECORATION & PRESENTATIONTo make your event extra special, we would be happy to assist with the decorations. You can, for example, create a special atmosphere using just the right lighting in, say, the colour of your company logo or house style.

We offer personalised menus starting at € 1.50 a piece. This will give a personal twist to your event, witheverything taken care of down to the last detail. We will also gladly help you with other decorations, from balloons to an oyster bar and from red carpets to flower arrangements *.

CATERING ON LOCATIONIf you are planning to throw a party or receive guests and would like to be free to enjoy the evening without continually being in the kitchen or pouring drinks, let us help. The Traveller will listen to your needs and provide catering on location*. We will provide this service at a standard of high quality you can always expect from us!

* Prices are available on request and depend on your wishes.

HOW TO GET TO US PUBLIC TRANSPORTThe Traveller is easy to get to on public transport. The tram, train and bus station of Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena is within walking distance of The Traveller. The Traveller is a mere 5-minute walk from the station.

PARKINGGuests of The Traveller can park in the parking garageof ING Bank on weekdays after 17:00 and at any time in the weekend. The parking garage is located under the restaurant. Guests can reach the Restaurant directly from the parking garage. During ordinary office hours, we recommend you use the Q-park garages P21 or P22 on the Bijlmerdreef, across from The Traveller.
