The Collegian is the student newspaper of Georgia Perimeter College, and is a designated public forum for students, faculty and staff to share their opinions. Comments and views expressed herein are those of the individual writers, and not those of the college or the Collegian as a whole. We strongly encourage students to submit articles and artwork for publication. Single copies are free. More than three copies per person are $.50 each.Editors reserve the right to edit for grammar, space, appropriateness and length. Not all submissions will be published. To speak with a staff member, please call 678-891-3382 or e-mail us at [email protected].

Welcome back to school everyone!

The start of the school year should be a fun time, filled with new friends, new challenges, and hopefully some new clothes to make hitting the classroom again a bit more appealing. Unfortunately, it has become a source of massive stress for many students.

Balancing homework, part-time jobs, and perhaps kids (all while maintaining your Facebook profile) can certainly make you feel like there are not enough hours in the day. It’s true that no one can squeeze everything into their schedule -- but we can fit in the things that are actually meaningful and beneficial to us.

Think about it: You have the power to decide how you want to run your life.

I would like to note that this is not a normal issue of the Collegian. Our welcome back issue is designed to serve our student readership by providing games, puzzles, and cartoons to get you through the long registration lines.

I’m encouraging students, faculty and staff to reach out to me throughout the semester. Share your GPC experiences.
