Dear delegates,
PACAI represents an exceptional opportunity for media stakeholders to come together and define a common vision that makes the right of access to information a reality everywhere on the continent. Human societies thrive with greater transparency, a sine qua non for improved democratic governance, economic growth and human development. That is why the African Media Initiative (AMI), a continental project that seeks to improve the media landscape by involving owners and operators, decided to be a partner for this important gathering. The strong partnerships formed to successfully organise PACAI have all the necessary reach and influence to push the agenda towards a World Day of Access to Information exactly as the Windhoek Declaration paved the way for World Press Freedom Day.We look forward to engaging each and every one of you towards the objectives of this conference.
