Don Coleman’s public service efforts span more than 30 years. His service as an EMT-Paramedic has impacted countless lives of trauma victims and their families. His commitment to EMS education and training has helped increase the performance expectations and standards required of the state’s emergency responders. During 20 years of service as aSWATteamParamedicandReservePoliceOfficer,Doncompiledover4,250volunteerhoursandparticipatedinover 100SWATmissionswhileprotectingandprovidingmedicalcareforofficersandcitizensoftheregion.Hebeganhis employment with Northeast State Community College in 1985 and currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Emergency Medical Technology. Don earned his EMT-Paramedic certificationfromNortheastStatein1987andisagraduateofEastTennesseeStateUniversitywithbachelor’s and master’s degrees.
