Goal : SOLIDARITY is every where in human life.

Objectives:-

Social Justice - To establish social justice. Organization - To organize neglected oppressed, deprived people through capacity building and improved their quality of life. Liberation conciseness- To preserved and culture and the glories monument and history of Bangladesh’s and liberation war. Intellectuality - To inspire latest invention and modernization for manifestation of intellectuals. Development - To ensure science and technology-familiar sustainable development structure ensuring resource mobilization and utilization properly. Awareness- To eradicate social behindhand, superstitious and ignorance of state polices through awareness building. Right- To establish people rights recognized by UN and state. Impact of ecological environment- To protect environment and peace for saving human being. Tradition of Culture- Having cultural heritages & festivals towards life against ill culture. Yeomen Services- To assist every necessary support for neglected people through disaster

period.

Explanation of the Name of SOLIDARITY

Out of ten, first letter of each objective’s has create a meaningful word “SOLIDARITY” as bellow:- S = Social Justice O = Organization L = Liberation Conciseness I = Intellectuality D = Development A = Awareness R = Right I = Impact of ecological environment T = Tradition of Culture Y = Yeomen Services

The meaning of the spelling is SOLIDARITY.

The SOLIDARITY has three registration status which is stated below:-

SOLIDARITY has responded during Flood, Cold wave & Drought according to its Emergency Preparedness Plan(EPP)

Process of Coordination and Cooperation

We work with Local Government as bellow steps:-

• Project briefing.

• Area demarcation.

• Regular coordination with GOB and NGO’s for avoiding over leaping.

• Beneficiaries selection through community consultation and house

hold visit.

• Beneficiaries endorsement.

• Beneficiaries list published in web portal (A 2 I).

• Hard copy hanging to Union Parishads and public places.

• Fixation of Grants distribution date & Places with local government.

• Listed beneficiaries mobilization for Food/Non-food/Cash/SIM

distribution center.

• Post monitoring for learning and held feed back session.

• Conducted learning session among staffs.

• Obtaining of Certification of distribution.

Experience on Disaster in SHOUHARDO II Program field.

• In 2014 flood, SHOUHARDO II Program area uses the tools &

methodology-

• Emergency Response & Recovery worked efficiently done by the

• Emergency Preparedness Plan(EPP).

• Emergency Response Team(ERT).

• Upazilla Disaster Management Committee (UzDMC).

• Union Disaster Management Committee(UDMC)

• Union Disaster Volunteers.(UDV).

• Village Development Committee(VDC) .

• Project Implementation Committee (PIC).

• At the same time all the SHOUHARDO II Program and other

projects staffs were dedicated in emergency activities out of their

normal routine work

* Ensured the Accountability before, during and after disaster

on Emergency Response & Recovery.

How SOLIDARITY switched over DRR/development program to Emergency?

SOLIDARITY :-

(1) Preferred to work on humanitarian issue like reduce the flood damage and

try to safe the causality through rescue team

as well as awareness on climate change adaptation & small mitigation.

(2) Always to do work to increase community resilient in working

area of DRR/development program affected by the recent

disaster.

(3) ERT response with immediate effect.

(4) Early warning system always to disseminate quick and quality information to the community through UDV, SBTB under UDMC.

(5) On Health, Agriculture, Livestock support both soft and hard are available in the community by the GO and NGO’s

Already the following methods and tools are

Improve stove,

Flood & drought tolerant variety rice,

Bagging method & vertical method,

Floating method garden and seed bed,

Home state raising,

Flood shelter for human and cow shelter for animal ,

Bamboo made bundle.

Human resource development,

Tree plantation and vegetation,

Fodder for animal and protection of soil erosion

Recommendation

Long time project rather than Short time project

To adapt the technology for reducing Chronic disaster in the community.

Reconstruction/Recovery program should be continued to reduce on damages and loses of properties in affected area.

Program would be more sustainable on the need base apaches
