ArtWorks interns learned what it means to give back to the community. 12 apprentices volunteered to work for two days in July on a unique community partnership with the William Patrick Day Development Center’s Lighthouse Summer Camp, which serves children with and without disabilities. With the assistance of the apprentices, 20 Lighthouse campers created a large mural installed in the center’s atrium space consisting of mixed media drawings which were assembled by the apprentices.

Elise Barrington, an 11th grader at Shaker Heights High School, noted “It was wonderful to work with the students and reallygreat to experience art with them. They were so creative and passionate about painting and drawing. We had a great time together.”
