Stewardship

NEW INFORMATION: DURING CORONA-19 PERIOD

The Archdiocese of Atlanta has announced that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass remains in effect through June 28, 2020. If live with someone, or care for someone in a high risk category, we strongly encourage you to attend live streamed Mass. We also in-vite you to benefit of the spiritual resources you will find just by clicking here.

What to expect when our parish is safely ready to reopen: Based on the guidelines from the Archdiocese, the CDC and the local authorities, below there is a list of requirements you would need to comply with in order to attend Mass onsite (Reopening date has not been deter-mined yet, however, it is important to be aware of the new safety guidelines). We will divide the guidelines into PRIOR, DURING and AFTER.

Guidelines to comply PRIOR to attending Mass on site:

The number of attendees will be limited. We will be using Ticket Source to register to attend Mass.

All parishioners are asked to take their temperature prior to coming to Mass. If anyone in your family has a tempera-ture of 99.6 degrees or greater, or exhibits any symptoms of illness, everyone in the family needs to stay home.

The doors will be open approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of Mass.

All parishioners must bring their own face mask and must wear it throughout the Mass.

It is strongly recommended not to bring children under 12 years old to attend Mass onsite.

Your temperature will be taken, if your temperature is 99.6 or more you and your household would be asked to go back home.

Before you are directed to your seat, you will need to sanitized your hands at the sanitizing stations.

To ensure safe distancing, seating will be configured differently and ushers will direct you to your seat.

The restrooms will be closed. There will be availability of a bathroom for emergency use only.

We will be covering the DURING and AFTER Mass guidelines in the next week's parish bulletin. Please keep informed through the Bulletin, Announcements, Calling Posts, Website and social media platforms such as Facebook and/or Twitter. If you would like to receive notifications via e-mail, please contact Patricia at: [email protected] or call 404-696-6704. Your cooperation will be the most important factor in this transition to a healthy and safe come back to our Parish.

Masses at Saint Paul of the Cross Catholic Church are still suspended, we are working towards a

safe and healthy reopening.

My dear Parishioners, Today we bring to a close the fifty days of Easter cele-bration only to welcome the Gift of Jesus and the Father, their Holy Spirit, to enlighten and guide us as a pilgrim people through this world to the ultimate goal of our journey. The Holy Sprit, the very Soul of the Church, is an unimaginable source of strength for all of us and we must rely on that strength to see us through these very trying days. The Spirit will not fail us, we know, but we can fail the Spirit by closing ourselves off from her influ-ence in our lives and our world. We do that by relying solely on human abilities which are good but not fully capable of accomplishing all that God wants from us. This past Lent and Easter have been different than any other in our lifetime. The coronavirus has deprived us of so much, not just our freedom and things that have made life livable like jobs and social events, travel and com-munity worship. But, strange as it may seem, the Holy Spirit has been at work in many of us, allowing us to settle for the essentials in life, to do without our usual comforts and to look more seriously at our lives, the life of our sisters and brothers ,especially those who have been suffering and dying. As of this week, in this coun-try alone, over 100,000 lives have been taken by this new virus. But others have perished as well, some before our very eyes, from a more destructive virus than COVID-19. Its name is Racism; it is more destructive because it affects not only the body but more devastatingly reaches into and permeates the soul with blind hatred. Some rightfully call it the Original Sin of this nation. The Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Love, can empow-er us to take on both and win the battle because nothing, NOTHING, is more powerful than Divine Love. But we must muster up the courage to open ourselves up as indi-viduals and as a nation and allow that Spirit to enter in. But it is such an arduous task. Nevertheless, we must undertake it. Now is the moment! If we– all of us - put as much energy into annihilating racism as scientists are investing in the arrest of COVID-19, the Holy Spirit, working through us, will erase RACISM-2020 from the heart of our nation and our world. —Fr. Jerome, C.P.

Each week during May-June, prayers relating to COVID-19 are suggested. Let us pray this week:

For World Health:

O Heavenly Father, I pray today for the recovery of our world from this pandemic. Lead us and guide us. Help us find safe ways to be together, reconnecting with friends and family. Lead us to a new normal, keeping the virus at bay, yet resuming life together in community. Lord, grant us patience and flexibility as we adjust to new ways, for our world may still feel different, even as we venture out from our homes. Help us to move through these changes with grace and adaptability. In all this I pray through Jesus’ name, Amen. Promise to Protect. Pledge to Heal.

We want to help you get your life back. YOU matter. YOU are family.

We are here to listen and take action!
