Data Binders
• Means of tracking student progress• Form of communication with parents• There is a section for Math, ELA (Reading
and writing), Science and Social Studies. Please sign the Binder Check sheet in the front of the binder when it comes home with your child.
Homework Expectations• Read 20 minutes: Monday-Friday• Ready, Set, Read: Students write
responses to ELA teachers as they finish a book
• Math: Monday-Thursday• Occasionally Science & Social Studies• Word Study: Once a week• Homework shouldn’t take more than a
total of 40 minutes in 4th grade
Agenda Book Expectations
• Students should copy their homework daily
• Parent signature everyday• If your child had trouble with our 3 R’s
(Respectful, Responsible, Ready) there will be a label in your child’s assignment book
4th grade events
• Wax Museum is tentatively scheduled for the Spring. (More information will follow)
• Possible Field Trips: – Fall-Science Center– Spring-Annapolis

Miscellaneous Reminders
• Volunteer trainings must take place 7 school days prior to volunteering or chaperoning
• Feel free to celebrate your child’s birthday with pencils or erasers. (Please refrain from sending food items due to possible food allergies)
Planned Absences
•Students may collect their missed assignments from teachers on the day they return to school. •Students will have the same amount of days they were absent to make up the work.•If the student misses an assessment, the teacher will schedule a time for the assessment based on the progress of the missed work.
