What is Fiber Optic?

An optical fiber is a flexible, transparent fiber made of extruded glass (silica) or plastic, slightly thicker than a human hair.

It can function as a waveguide, or “light pipe”, to transmit light between the two ends of the fiber. 

Power over Fiber (PoF) optic cables can also work to deliver an electric current for low power electric devices. 

The field of applied science & engineering concerned with the design and application of optical fibers is known as fiber optics.

FOL-A-P consists of two optic transmitters of wavelength 660nm and 950nm with two optic receivers PIN photo diode & photo transistor detector. It performs Direct intensity Modulation, Frequency Modulation, Pulse width Modulation and Pulse position Modulation.

FOL-B-P consists of two optic transmitters of wavelength 660nm and 950 nm with two optic receivers PIN photo diode and photo transistor detector. It performs Pulse Code Modulation using CODEC chip, Manchester Coding/decoding and 16 channel time division multiplexing.

FOL-M-GP

FOL-M-GP supports Plastic Fiber–Multimode and Glass Fiber–Single mode / multimode experimental setups. It allows finding of IV and IP characteristics of Laser diode and IV characteristics of LED. Soft start for Laser prevents damage due to spikes in power supply. Configurable source modulation by analog and digital signals. Protected taps to measure forward voltage and forward current through LED, Laser sources and DETECTOR.

FOL-M-GP : Fiber Optic Trainer kit For Glass and Plastic Fiber

FOL-Dual

FOL-DUAL fiber optic source and detector module provides two numbers of laser sources at 1310nm & 1550nm with PIN detector and PIN TIA detectors. A built in pulse generator is also provided to avoid the use of external instrument. All connectors are suitable for ST type of connector interface.
