completion We go over the warm-up Address any homework questions Introduce/practice/apply new concepts

Homework Homework may be assigned daily Practice/reinforcement of that day’s concept or

preview an upcoming concept Yes, students should check answers when

available After the first quarter, during which students will

get half credit, LATE homework will be marked complete but receive a zero

students may redo HW for more points if they do not show work, write in pencil, etc…

Materials Pencil, only, for all math work Notebook should go back and forth daily

and homework should be in the notebook Agenda book Things for home:

Scientific calculator Ruler, protractor, compass, graph paper

Calculator use If calculators were used in class, they are

allowed on homework Students would benefit most from a

scientific calculator at home… Squares & square roots, parentheses Fractions

Personal calculators DO NOT need to be brought to class

Assessment No quarterly assessments this year. Quizzes periodically and unit tests at the

end of each unit. MSA in March – covers grade level

curriculum Skills checks: 2-5 points, 2 or 3 questions to

assess mastery of daily content

Absence/Make-up/Missing Work

Check my website Student should see me upon return, check

class folder on bulletin board Students have the same number of days as

they were out to make up missed work for full credit

I will plan a make-up day every couple of weeks to allow students to “catch-up” due to absences and pull outs and complete activities they might have missed
