agenda book each day and sign it. At a

minimum it will tell you daily behavior,

homework, and other important

information. Please use this tool to

communicate with me as well!

Belt must be worn, if pants have loops.

Tennis shoes should be worn on PE days.

No open toed shoes, crocs, or flip flops.

Sweaters or jackets must be school colors with no logos. This includes undershirts.

If your child requires regular medication,

and/or suffers from severe allergies,

please visit with the school nurse tonight

before you leave.

Snack Time

Morning Arrival Students may enter the building at 7:15

Students may eat breakfast in the cafeteria from 7:15

to 7:40

Car riders have to be in the cafeteria by 7:30 am to

receive breakfast.

If 2nd graders do not eat breakfast at school…they

report to the 2nd grade classroom at 7:15 a.m.

Morning announcements begin @ 7:35 am. All students

should be in their classrooms by this time.

Instruction begins @ 7:45 am. Your child should be in

their seat and ready to begin at 7:45!

Students are counted tardy @ 7:46 am.

Dismissal

Changes in the way your child goes home

are done through written notes only or

fax. We want to make sure your child is safe at all times. Thank you! ☺

If you did not get a chance to tell me

how your child is going home from school,

you must see me before you leave.

Flexible Seating

Students will have different seating options, and the student and teacher work together to decide which seat will work best for their learning style.

According to research, flexible seating:• helps students attention spans; which results in higher achievement• makes students more actively engaged in the classroom• gives them an active outlet without disrupting their learning• motivates students to want to come to school• helps those with ADHD and Autism, along with other special needs

I understand it might be a little different and not at all what you’re used to but I truly believe this will help your child be the best learner they can be.

2nd Grade homework consists of reading daily for 15 minutes minimum in the 1st Semester and a weekly math sheet. Please sign your child’s reading log each night.

We encourage you to have your child read as much as possible each night and practice math facts.

*Adjustments to homework may be made to better serve your child.

i-Pads

Every 2nd grader will be issued an i-pad this school year!!!

i-pads will be for use in school only to further academics

You will sign an acceptable use form for your child to use an i-pad at school

Please make sure you child has a pair of headphones

Please don’t be surprised if your child needs 2 or more pairs of headphones throughout the year

Swimming

All 2nd Graders in Beaufort County MUST

attend swimming lessons

Our school will participate in these mandated

lessons in April/May of 2020.

We will send home full details closer to the

time.
