The nature of band requires active participation, best effort, and a positive attitude. Every action affects the group positively or negatively.

Classroom Management Rules and Expectations

Show support and respect for the band, director, classroom, property and members

Work as a team Strive for excellence No talking or playing while the director is working Raise your hand (and wait to be called on) to speak or leave your

seat

Consequences Warning 15 minute detention (same day or next day) Third deduction (or incident) in one class session – put instrument

Grades Rehearsal Etiquette

20 points per week, deductions possible

Home Practice (weekly- always due Monday) On-line practice log 60 minutes a week = an A Hard copy practice log also available Parent signature One free week

Playing Assessments Done in class or can be sent in by email Assessment calendar and grading rubric provided
