‘Bring an Offering and Come Into His Courts’ The Bible makes believers’ offerings not just a way to pay bills but an act of worship. We are almost ready to restore the offering to its pre-COVID role in our Lord’s Day gatherings, passing the plate, praying, and making music as we worship God in this way. Just giving you a heads up.

Seating Options Standard seating is available in the center sections and balcony; socially distanced seating on the sides and the Christian Arts Auditorium.

Parent and Child Dedication Use a contact card from the pew rack or email ([email protected]) to let Pastor Ken know if your family wants to participate in this ceremony on Father’s Day, June 19. There will be a brief informational meeting after worship on May 16.

Let My People Pray! The times in which we’re living call for concentrated prayer by God’s people. So this year we’re scheduling six all-church prayer meetings on Sunday evenings. Stay tuned for the next one a few weeks from now.

Children’s Church Starting In Two Weeks The sermon ser ies Mother ’s Day through Father’s day, “Sex for the Glory of God,” may be a bit much for children. So before the sermon each week in that series we’ll excuse kids through grade 6 for age-appropriate teaching (also related to God’s design for families).

Spanish Worship Service Today, dur ing the 10:30 worship service, there will be a Spanish service in the Chapel. There will be no Spanish translation for the service in the Sanctuary. This Spanish service will take place the last Sunday of each month.

Want To Dig Deeper Into The Sermon On The Mount? Pastor Ken highly recommends John Stott’s book on the greatest sermon ever preached. You’ll find copies for sale (and other good resources, too) in the “Book Nook” in the lobby and in the flagpole entrance outside the office.

Legacy Giving - It’s Not Just For Rich People There are other ways you can provide for God’s work after you’re gone; here are two. You can include the church in your will (this doesn’t have to be complicated). You can establish a charitable trust, where you receive the interest on your money and when you die the principle goes to the church. An attorney or financial advisor can assist you with this.

2021 Zion YFC Celebration All are invited to this year ’s Youth For Christ celebration this Thursday, April 29th at The Bridge Youth Center (3520 21st St in Zion). Come hear about how YFC has continued to creatively minister to local teens in the midst of this past year. Drinks and snacks are provided at 6:15 with the program beginning at 7 pm.

Homeowner in Need? The Many Hands Project is looking for service projects for this summer’s MHP (June 28-30). Specifically, we are looking to assist homeowners with projects that they cannot perform themselves and cannot afford to have completed. If you have such a project that we can assist you with, please contact Pastor Leo at [email protected] for more information.

Saturate Zion with the Gospel This summer the Mission Team and Evangelism Committee are proposing to reach every home in Zion with the message of the gospel. Though the resources provided to us by an organization called Saturate USA we plan to distribute 11000 copies of the Jesus film along with gospel literature and information about CCC. In about mid-May we will be assembling the door hanger bags to begin this gospel oriented effort. Please be thinking about where you can volunteer in this effort. We need people praying everyday. We need people to help assemble the material and we need people to take a section of our city and distribute the material and engage those we meet in spiritual conversations. Stay tuned for more specific information on this evangelistic effort in Zion.

Library Spr ing is here! Time to do some " spr ing cleaning" and find any overdue library books and return them to the library. Thank you.

Lost & Found We have a small Lost & Found area in the hall between the Narthex and the Office. There are many coffee mugs that were left behind in church. Also, there are several small items (glasses, electronics, and jewelry) in the office on the bulletin board. If you are missing something, please take a look.

Ladies, It's Here! Register and reserve your spot for our Spring Craft, Quilt & Sew Retreat at beautiful Camp Zion. The scheduled days are this Thursday-Sunday, April 29-May 2 with options to come for 1, 2, or 3 additional nights, depending on your personal schedule. To see additional details and to register go to: http://www.campzion.com. If you have questions, feel free to

contact Chris Bereiter directly at 847-772-7374 or email: [email protected]. Hope you are ready to get away for a few days and enjoy time with old and new friends!

Ambassadors meets tonight in the youth room from 6-6:45 pm.

Many Hands Project MHP has been one of the most impactful pieces of CCC Youth Ministry for the past decade. It is a multi-youth ministry, local service endeavor, bringing together a variety of high school students from area churches to serve homeowners in need in our community. We currently partner with YFC (Youth for Christ) and will be housed at their facility on 21st St from June 27-30. This allows us to treat MHP as a short missions project with a similar daily schedule to what we keep when overseas on mission trips. This project is open to all current high school students as well as incoming freshmen. Applications are available from Pastor Leo and are due by April 30th.

I Then Shall Live Verse 1

I then shall live as one who's been forgiven I'll walk with joy to know my debts are paid I know my name is clear before my Father I am His child and I am not afraid So greatly pardoned I'll forgive my brother The law of love I gladly will obey
