TOPIC TALK

Today my talk is about...
PAPA AND I:WE HAVE THE SAME NAME, BUT VERY DIFFERENT LIVES GROWING UP
2
ARE YOU READY 2C ?
My Papa was born in 1932 and grew up on a farm. I was born in 2006 and I am growing up in a
big city.
On Sunday I interviewed him by FaceTime and learnt all about his life as a boy. We had VERY
different lives.
Take a look at these questions and our different answers...

What type of home did you grow up in?

<< DEAN (7 1/2 years old) >>
I was born in a big city (Sydney). I am growing up in an apartment.
I was born on a farm in South Australia. I lived in a concrete garage my father built. We did not have electricity and our water came from the rainwater tank.

Where did you play and have fun?

<< DEAN (7 1/2 years old) >>
I played in a park across the road from our apartment or in my bedroom with my toys and Max.
I played with my sister, Judy and brother Whyard. You had to make up your own games like chasing chickens!

I go to a big school in Sydney with about 500 students. My school has a playground, a basketball court and computers. I travel to and from school by car.
I walked five kilometres to school along a dirt road. My school was called, Mosquito Creek Primary School. It had 17 students and one teacher.
