New technology, over 40 new products and a new stand design

ISE is always a major event for CYP and this year’s show is no exception. Along with announcing over 40 new products, we are particularly delighted to be launching our latest technology AVLC. AVLC or Adaptive Visual Lossless Compression, is an extremely clever compression system that faithfully allows the transmission of 18Gbps UHD signals over the 10.2Gbps HDBaseT infrastructure, enabling integrators to finally run 4K UHD HDMI @60Hz (4:4:4, 8-bit) video signals up to 70 metres! See page 06-07 for further information about this ground breaking technology.

We have already started to integrate AVLC into certain products with the majority on display here in Amsterdam. In addition, we have a whole new range of extenders, matricies and IP products on show, along with many updated versions of the numerous AV solutions we are globally renowned for.

HDR over HDBaseTIntroducing AVLC

Spot the difference? Neither can we!

H aving been a developer partner of HDBaseT technology since its introduction, we

at CYP have a long experience of data transmission over Cat 5e/6/7 cable. But if you

want to get the ultimate in video quality, namely 4K@60Hz (4:4:4, 8-bit), HDR10 (High

Dynamic Range) and Dolby Vision (all of which require 18 Gbps bandwidth), HDBaseT

10.2 Gbps technology is just unable to support the bandwidth required for these ultra-

high definition video signals in their native form. That is until now.

After significant research and development, CYP has developed a new technology

and subsequent product range that offers true 4K HDR10 and Dolby Vision support

over HDBaseT. Called AVLC (Adaptive Visual Lossless Compression), the 18 Gbps HDR

signal is compressed into a signal that can be transmitted over the standard HDBaseT

technology, and is then faithfully re-built at the receiver end prior to distributing it to

the display device.

Crucially, the compression takes place within the AVLC HDMI chip and presents the

HDBaseT technology with a pre-packaged stream. Unpacking the other end is also

carried out by the AVLC HDMI chip, leaving the HDBaseT technology alone to do what

it is best at – transmitting signals over long distances via Cat 6 cable.

The adaptive part of the technology is also very clever. The transmitter can recognise

what data speed the source device is outputting and then alter the transmitting

bandwidth required for the best performance. Therefore, any outputted signal falling

under 10.2 Gbps will be transmitted along the HDBaseT installation in its native form.

We are very proud of AVLC and will be incorporating it into our range of HDBaseT

extenders and matrices throughout 2018. If you are reading this show guide at ISE

The PUV-1650 differs from other HDBaseT extender sets with its additional layer of control. This unit provides an interface for a remote control keypad or trigger

interface which could be placed in a variety of installation scenarios (Lecterns, meeting room tables, podiums, etc...). This interface allows the user to control a wide

range of devices and macro commands from the touch of a button over the local network. Complimentary control products within the CYP range include the CR-TG1 &

CR-KP products.

The TX also features 'Top Panel' controls for direct control of the device (with OSD) and the added benefit of a WebGUI, RS.232 and LAN control. Using the WebGUI

interface timed events can be stored on the unit for added system control.

A key feature of the PUV-1600 series is that the power is sent to the TX from the mains powered RX VGA PoH. This offers additional flexibility when integrating and designing

meeting room solutions.
