Math and Composition Placement

• Placements are initially determined by ACT and/or SAT scores (must be taken in 2013 or more recently), high school coursework, AP or CLEP test scores, and/or coursework from a previous college.

• Scores to determine whether a student requires basic skills coursework or is college-level in composition and mathematics are set by the State of Colorado (CRS 23-1-113). Per State of Colorado policy, basic skills coursework must be completed with a grade of C- or higher by the time a student earns 30 credits at Fort Lewis College.

• If you have not provided us with placement information or wish to challenge your placement, you may take the Accuplacer exam for $25 at the Testing Center, Noble Hall, Room 287, 970.382.6938.
