Welcome to Healthcare Provider BLS We are so excited that you are taking a class with us! If you are currently scheduled for a BLS Healthcare Provider class this checklist should help you be prepared. Make sure you are studying from an American Heart Association 2010 or new edition. It is an AHA requirement that you have a book before class. We do rent books if needed (please see our website for details). Bring a photo ID and your previous card if you’re attending a recertification course. Remember to wear loose, comfortable clothing as this course requires that you work in a kneeling position. If you have physical limitations, please let us know as soon as possible and we will work to accommodate your needs. We suggest you print this welcome packet as it contains your agenda and an overview from the text book. It is our intention that your class will be fun and relaxed, but we also want you to have the confidence you need in an emergency. So, leave you jitters at home and prepare to laugh and learn with us. The agenda below will give you an idea of what to expect if this is your first time. The following pages are taken from the AHA pocket guide that accompanies the text book. We have found that they are often misplaced or lost over time. They are not meant to replace your text

book but to supplement your learning.
