REMEMBRANCE DAY PRAYER Dear Heavenly Father, On this day of remembrance for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our servicemen and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and your presence as they stand in the gap for our protection. We also remember the families of our troops. We ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes, and we pray your peace, provision, hope and strength will fill their lives. May the members of our armed forces be supplied with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.

THE PRIEST’S PRAYER FOR THE MASS INTENTION
As the priest is vesting for Mass, he says a prayer offering the Mass for the specified intention, which is usually listed in the parish bulletin. This prayer is said privately by the priest as it demonstrates his responsibility to pray for the needs of his parishioners and for the repose of the souls of the faithful departed.
This formal Mass intention is for the priest, and he carries that intention in his heart during Mass. For this reason, the Mass intention does not have to be mentioned aloud during Mass.
In the silence of their hearts, the faithful may offer the Mass for their own intentions. THE INTRODUCTORY RITES
The Mass consists of four parts: the Introductory Rites, the Liturgy of the Word, the Liturgy of the Eucharist, and the Concluding Rites. The Introductory Rites consist of everything from the beginning of the Entrance Chant to the conclusion of the Collect.
Through song, reflection and prayer, these rites serve to open the Mass and to prepare our hearts and souls to listen attentively to the Word of God and to then feast at the table of the Eucharist. It is likened to what happened to the disciples on the way to Emmaus, in the opening of the Scriptures and in the breaking of bread, their eyes were opened and they recognized Christ in their midst.
