The Chestnut Group

• The Middle School Teachers are working in Teams with your students. The teachers are communicating daily and devising teaching plans that will support the growth of our students in the classroom. Our common goals are teamwork, to challenge and support our learners, and create a warm school community. Grading

• Homework counts for 10% (Assigned nightly, posted on board, and on our class website too!)

• Portfolio 30% (Labs, Class Assignments, Notes, etc.)

• Quizzes 30% (There will be at least 3 quizzes each marking period)

• Tests 30% (2 Tests per marking period, 1 assessment is project based)

• Great Participation, helping a fellow student, other positive behaviors

• Tickets will be awarded to students individually. Students are individually working for extra credit, prizes, and homework passes.

• Students will be engaged in a STEM based learning process. A hands on approach to Science will help students better understand complex terms and relate or apply these terms to the world around them.
