Focuses on the calendar and math we use everyday, discovery, math games, and drill and practice.

• Some of the skills that should be mastered by the end of kindergarten:– Counting to 100– Identifying numbers 0-31– Counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s– Writing numbers 0-31– Identifying 3D shapes– Graphing– Patterns– Beginning addition and subtraction

Core Knowledge

In kindergarten our biggest focus is on the 7 continents. We also study the Earth, weather, seasons, magnets, plants and

Class Rules

Uniforms

• Please help your child stay in uniform daily!• No cargo pants or shorts (pockets on legs).• Socks must cover above ankles.• Belts must be worn on clothing with loops.• Shoes are to be uniform colors, black, or grey

Lunch

• Lunch is $2.25• Snack items are .25 or .50 • You can pay online by going to mealpay.com• Family Picnic end of September

Field Trips

• We will be going on 3 field trips!– The Environmental Learning Center– Lion Country Safari– Movie: The Brothers

Dates and parent chaperone sign ups are coming soon!

Homework

• I will be sending home a homework calendar at the beginning of each month.

• Please try to work with your child for a short time each night.

• You do not need to return homework unless it is noted on the calendar.

• Please keep homework in a safe place!• I recommend that you keep a box of supplies to use

for homework.

Volunteer Hours

• Each Rosewood family is required to have 10 hours each school year.

• I will send home volunteer opportunities in the Thursday Newsletter.

• I will also be sending home days and times I need help on a regular basis.
