Kindergarten Schedule

Arrival & Dismissal• Transportation Tags ~Received in mail ~Wear Daily on Shirt for 1st month

• Arrival ~Doors open at 8:45a.m.

~Tardy after 9:15a.m.

• Dismissal ~Begins at 3:45p.m.

~ Pick up prior to 3:45p.m. is tardy ~Dismissed based on your child’s emergency card

unless otherwise notified in writing.

Lunch

• Choice of buying or packing lunch daily (pack: easy to open items)

• Microwaving food is not an option• Teachers and lunch assistants

will be available to help your child through the lunch line.

• All students will have a pin number when buying lunch.

Birthdays

• Edible treats are not allowed due to food allergies

• May send in non-edible treats such as a pencil, stickers, etc.

• Birthday invitations may be handed out in the classroom if done unobtrusively

Conferences

• Held in the evenings of October 16 & 24 , November 4 &

12• Attend one of the four nights• Look for paper to be sent home in

early September for scheduling

Field Trips

• Summer’s Farm on October 25• Taneytown Library March • Maryland Zoo on April 11• Kindergarten Picnic in June• Must be trained at least 7 days

prior to trip in order to volunteer.

Volunteer Training

• Volunteer opportunities: ~at home ~at school ~special activities ~field trips• Training Dates/Times: Aug 22,27,29 & Oct 16

Attendance

• Send in a note to your child’s teacher after every absence explaining the reason for the absence

• Contact the school nurse or school counselor if your child will be absent more than 3 days

• Make up work for Kindergarten is difficult, much of our day is not in written format.

Tips

• Open House ~Tomorrow 2:00-3:00

• School Supplies may be dropped off today or tomorrow (no labeling)

• First Day Transportation~ Remind your child how they will be getting home.

• Change of Clothes~ NEEDED for EVERY child (no shorts)

Reminders• Talk to your child about their day

at school• Read to your child daily!• Check folder daily• Tennis Shoes on PE days• No flip-flops or open toed shoes

allowed on playground equipment

• Girls should wear shorts under dresses
