We understand you must have many questions.

We intend to answer them all in our informational session.

We are here tonight to discuss:• the importance of a High School graduation plan that includes the Distinguished Level of Achievement

and one or more Endorsements,

• the importance of Post-Secondary Education,

• automatic college admission, and

• eligibility for financial aid.

• This year, every student must have a PGP on file that is signed by the student and a parent.

Most of the very best jobs require education and training beyond high school

Prepare now for post-secondary education

The Distinguished Level of Achievement will ensure the best preparation for your future.

• More math and science

• Allows you to compete for Top 10% (7% or 6%) automatic admissions eligibility at any Texas public university

• Positions eligible students for TEXAS Grant*and other financial aid to help pay for college

The Distinguished Level of Achievement is achieved by earning 4.0 credits in a coherent sequence of courses.

What does that mean?

Lamar offers many pathways, but all pathways lead to 1 of 5 endorsements:Business & Industry, STEM, Public Service, Arts & Humanities, or Multidisciplinary

Lamar graduates with the Multidisciplinary Endorsement were accepted into the the Business and Engineering programs at UT and A&M

But there may come a time when colleges consider Endorsements for Admission.

REALITY CHECKThere are only so many hours in the school day.

You cannot be a 2 period athlete for 4 years & earn 5 endorsements.But you need only 1 endorsement.

Colleges recognize that student athletes are well rounded applicants.

So follow your passion!

If both student and parent have signed the PGP, please place it in the box labeled, “Signed by both student and parent.”

If only a parent has signed the PGP, please place in in the box labeled, “Signed by parent ONLY.”

If only the student has signed the PGP, please place it in the box labeled, “Signed by student ONLY.”

And please ask a parent to come Thursday night to sign your PGP.
